He's just WILDLY inconsistent. He will win you games with his confidence but he will absolutely lose you games with that same confidence.

Yes, Cole's biggest problem is his inconsistency. That is why he is not playing a larger role on this team. But Cole is capable. If he can rain 3s consistently, he could be our Payton Prichard in the playoff and it would be huge for us in a potential 7 game series. But we will see. I like Cole and I am his fan. I wish this Magic team surprises a lot people even in a down season like this

Another reason he is a limited time player is he fouls too much. He tries but his trying is not effective on defense and just leads to fouls.

I was at the game tonight and I honestly thought we were pretty terrible. We won because Boston's lineup tonight was very rough, plus they didn't shoot well.

I'll take it, don't get me wrong. I'm glad we've fought back to .500, it shows they have some amount of pride. Of course, now I think about all those horrible losses we had and it makes me mad, because we really could have avoided the play-in. We might be heavily favored to make it through, but I have trust issues with this team this year.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I dont think this is a fluke, its finally clicked for Houstan

That was a super impressive play. We all need to hope that this shooting isn't a fluke. Hell, he is shooting 39.6% from deep for the year.

Potentially our first volume 3 pt shooter since T Ross/Fournier?

Mind boggling

I thought thats why we drafted Jett for?

Orlando already won the tiebreaker against Atlanta. So: the Magic is OFFICIALLY the 7 seed now.

Go Magic!

My only box score thoughts of this poo-poo platter of a game:

Both teams combined for only 11 made FTs. Sad. As sad as the Magic only scoring 16 points in the 4th, and still winning the quarter.

But yes, the Magic won the FG% battle to win the game.

p.s. Harris made TWO FGs. Wow.

Your “AB sucks, Cole is an NBA starter” bit is quite stale. It’s very tribal and shows zero nuance. I’m sure at some point you posted about other topics but this is all I see you contribute these days.

For the record, I want a real starting PG added to this roster ASAP. AB hasn’t proven that he’s capable and the book is pretty much written on Cole.

I can see it now- Cole puts together two promising games in blowout losses to BOS and scores a big extension…to further bury us under the treadmill

Black sparked the first half run with his defense. The lead went to double digits after 2 consecutive steals from AB.

I went. Paul Porter deserves better.

I wouldn’t take much from this game.
Wendell and KCP both got hurt, sit them both until Tuesday.
Paolo was double/triple teamed.
Our bench did its job.

So question. Do we try to win game 41 and then don't care after that?

I’d say the odds are more likely they rest guys in both of the final two games.

*Maybe* they’ll treat the Indiana game like a dress rehearsal for the play in.

But the Hawks game I would expect no one important to play.

Im nowhere near as high as AB as most fans but Ab as a whole doesn't suck, AB the POINT GUARD is the one that sucks. This coaching staff keeps forcing him to evolve into an NBA PG when he lacks 99% of the skills of current era PG. AB is a 3D/wing in the NBA. Sooner we accept that the sooner he will be more productive.

Alternate shooting guard worse shooter then kcp but potentially better defender. Some of this is semantics. But between KCP / Suggs / Black / Harris you have the same player skill set at their peak.

And I tire of it.

I LOVE AB as a KCP who can also run some point...he's getting much more confident letting it fly and that's critical...We need a guy who will put up 7 3pt attempts every night and, hopefully, average 38% or more. 2 of those guys would be even better. AB is inexpensive, very big positionally, and plays great D. I'll still protest the concept that he's about to be our starting PG anytime soon...but the player we are watching him become is valuable. KCP makes TOO much money and we have guys that can do what he does...not even counting Suggs, who (last season at least) was a better KCP than KCP ever was. Suggs' deal is actually pretty good given it's descending nature but he might be the only high-salary trade chip we have - especially with AB showing us he can take on a bigger role that is presently occupied by Suggs and KCP on much higher salaries.

Suggs for a scoring stud PG...then AB & Caleb growing into bigger shooting roles might be the best direction. I also might be more concerned about Suggs' knee than others here.
