Harrison Barnes gets some revenge 9 years later.

The Bucks had a great culture under Bud. Was it because of Giannis or Bud? I think we have our answer. And I don't necessarily think that's a knock on Bud. The star(s) set the tone.

It's a bit of both. The culture under Kidd was toxic because he set that tone. The culture under Bud was more wholesome because he was more laid back and publicly supportive of his players. He had more of a high school teacher's vibe. That worked well with a team led by stand up guys like Giannis, Khris, Jrue, and Brook. But a Suns team with personalities like KD walked all over Bud because he didn't have the cachet to demand their loyalty.

Phoenix's implosion isn't entirely or mostly on Bud. That was a bad roster construction driven by Matt Ishbia's ego. But you can't fire the owner. James Jones and Bud are in line to get sacked, and the new GM/HC is going to have to gut this roster and start over.

Giannis needed Bud's structure. That Suns team is poorly constructed and Durant ain't about his coaching approach.

Suns are 33-29 when Durant plays and 2-16 when he doesn't.

Booker has been atrocious this season as well, and it's actually kinda hilarious that the Suns ultimate goal with a Durant trade this offseason is gonna be to "build around" Book as if he's this franchise guy that's ever been worth actually building around. His contract would be even more awful if not for the salary cap exploding.

It is April and garbage time. But Filipowski seemed like the guy we should have taken with the AJ Johnson pick. We almost got him in the 2nd. But he was always going before then.

Yeah, I had this thought last night as well. I don't think you can build around Book. They made it work in the sense that they went to the Finals that one season, but to me the single defining characteristic of this Suns era is having zero fight in them. Losing 4 straight to us in the Finals, going down 87-47 in a game 7 AT HOME in 2022, and getting swept by the Wolves last year. It's hard to imagine a team with more overwhelming disappointments in recent history.

The fact that Brook is literally on his last legs, last year of his contract and we didn't walk out of that draft with 1 of Messi(right before us), Filippwski, Ighodaro or Bona is insane.

Last time we played the Knicks KAT kept fouling everyone and everything moving with almost no calls all game.
Now they are playing the Pistons and he has 3 fouls in 15 minutes played...

Why the hell do they swallow their whistles when it's against us?

Pistons might be incentivised to tank the games vs us. Now 3-1 vs Knicks this year and 1-3 vs Indy.

Pacers can still technically get the 3 seed.

I'm not sure there's a dumber, more clueless player in the NBA.

Does Silver have the balls to suspend him for a playoff game? Probably not.

He's getting caught up in this feud with Joe Dumars as if it matters to Joe Dumars how much of Ja's money he takes.

Minny put up 52 in the 3rd. It was funny though, they had a 20+ lead and the Griz cut it to 10 with like 5 min left, but couldn't convert on a couple of opportunities.

I haven't been paying close attention league-wide but taking a look at the general board for league awards, the 65 game min has caused some wild movement.

Things like Zubac being talked about for DPOY, and Mobley being talked about for 1st Team All-NBA.

I like both those guys quite a bit, but that's crazy.

Luka, Wemby, KD, AD, and Paolo would probably be locks for all-nba teams if they had played enough games.

Another of the many instances of an own goal by the NBA and Silver. This week there are barley any games and not a ton of competition. There is nothing on TV sports wise but the masters, early season baseball and hockey. This should be a time they are pushing their best product.

Saturday-No Games to set up what?

Sunday-LAC/GSW(full stakes), 4 other games where the stakes matter for 1 team and the other is tanking or doesn't care.

Monday & Thursday off.

Then the entire east play in is a dumpster fire. The West will like have a good 7 vs 8 game. Also imagine if GSW falls to 7 and falls out of the playoffs?

Seems crazy to have 3 NBA off days in a week with no NFL for 2 good games and a bunch of ****. Has to be a better way to do this.
