We did this with Middleton... Let's not do it again with Dame.

We're not getting guys like Amen Thompson.

Am I missing something? No one thinks we’re getting Amen Thompson.

Maybe we can get a bottle of Old Thompson, though

Previous page. It's there.

Your suggestion is probably a bit too low. There's nothing to suggest Reed and Cam are any good. Jabari Smith would be nice and he's up or an extension so maybe something could be worked out there. Im weary about what his value is though.

Edit: I also think Eason is a long shot considering Houston's success with such a young roster. Why bring In Dame and risk the defensive identity they've built?

Literally no one said anything about getting Amen Thompson for Dame. Conversely, baffling to me how anyone can watch us stumble into two young, athletic rotation players (KPJ, Sims) by giving up nothing more than the corpses of Marjon and Delon Wright, while still propagating this absurd notion that we have no other avenue to acquire these kinds of dudes besides completely gutting the team around Giannis.

"Just flip all our good players for some warm bodies" trades look dumber in the aftermath of the Middleton/Kuzma debacle, not smarter. Horst took us from the 6th oldest team in the NBA to the 13th youngest with two deadline moves. Just imagine what an actual good/creative thinking GM can do on the margins.

Sims is a guy at most and are we going to hit refresh on the circuit court websites around the country and hope another big talent pops up? That's not a plan. That was a gift.

The "warm body" ( they were much more than that) trades for Middleton, myself and others pushed all of last off season were infinitely better than what we ended up with.

From Ron? He was saying Houston already has a glut of dudes at the forward spot as a reason for why they may prefer Dame over KD, not that Dame was worth Amen, Eason, etc.

As for my proposal, I’d much prefer Reed and Jabari over Reed and Cam. I think Cam could have more upside, but I think he’s farther away from being a positive player.

Jabari could develop into a really nice play finisher with positive defensive contributions. Kinda like what Bobby has been here for us when used properly, but also an asset defensively. That’s a nice player.

As for Reed, I think there’s quite a bit of upside, and he’s started to show some of it on the Rockets as of late. He may not look like a traditional all-star or anything, but I think he could be a better shooting, craftier offensive version of FVV, or a flame throwing TJ McConnell. A quick processor who doesn’t make mistakes, a scrappy defender with great hands, and an absolutely lethal outside shooter. I think he could be a top-50 player or so rather quickly, and would be a nice complement to KPJ.

Dame and Kuzma are huge enigmas, but one thing is for sure. They haven't caused a single problem with their behaviour in their time in Milwaukee and have shown willingness to do what it takes to win. Honestly I don't believe Dame and/or Kuzma are problems for Milwaukee.

Starting Prince at SG despite having four better guards in the bench is a problem. Being so much dependend on 37 y/o Brook and playing him 32 mpg is a problem. Forcing Dame and Giannis play 40ish minutes just to win losing teams indicates a problem. There is clearly a coaching problem.

I don't like Doc, but starting a 4th straight season with a different coach isn't the answer too. Another big trade isn't the solution either. We have gone from Jrue/Midds to Dame/Midds to Dame/Kuzma too fast. What this team lucks is continuity.

I'm saying bring everyone back. Pat + SRP(s) is the most I'm willing to spend (and that's probably to unload him and bring everyone else back). Change the roles a bit. More Giannis at C lineups, get the most out of KPJ, talk Kuzma into a lesser role offensively. Stuff like that.

Keep the coach. At least Doc is a good coach during the game and knows how to play the hot hand. It was so frustrating watching Bud using the same rotations no matter what actually happened in the games. Just do a better job surrounding Rivers with elite assistants.

I have seen a lot of "burn it down" talk, but honestly I don't believe Bucks are that far from getting another championship.

Why we wouldn't target Amen Thompson is beyond me. He's good. Would take him on this team in a heart beat.

Clearly we can do Lillard for VanVleet and one of Houston's worst prospects? He's an obvious upgrade. It'll look better after Houston loses in the first round

Trading Dame is crazy, we're getting 50 cents on the dollar at best. Just watch what KD goes for and subtract 20%. Yeah he's not the perfect fit but he's still a damn good player. Only scenario I'd do it is if someone is desperate Orlando? And actually gives up a haul for him.

VanVleet is not an upgrade from Dame, come on now.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think he meant to say Lillard would be an obvious upgrade for Houston over FVV, but the wording was confusing.

Yeah, agreed but we're not getting him.

It's not as if our opinions matter at all but a lot of far better Middleton trade ideas were shouted down here than what we ended up with. I'm just hoping the team doesn't over value and wait too long on Dame too.

So he did. My mistake.

I would probably do Smith and Reed. Assuming Smith gets 25-30 million, we'd have to bring back Dillon Brooks as well which I'm fine with.

Negative value asset and salary to get close to matching Dame's in a trade, is the general thought. At this point not sure you'd be able to convince them to pick up his club option to then pay to get off of it.
