It's totally pointless. There's even a bonus by possibly dropping to 4th even though unlikely. We don't see the Celtics in the 2nd round and would hopefully see them in the ECF's. Maybe they'll be a little banged up by then. Who knows what could happen.

That is a complete coward move. How many teams have won championships by avoiding their arch nemesis? When it came to a team unable to beat their rival they'd usually improve each year until they were the better team. How are the Knicks ever going to know what they need to improve on if they do not get a taste of Boston in the playoffs?

I agree, we should have a fighters mentality, yeah I’d rather see the Cavs in the second over the Celtics but we are where we are and shouldn’t have such a loser mentality.

If the Knicks do not take any of the games on their remaining schedule seriously and the Pacers take their last 3 seriously 3rd place could very well go to Indiana.
