CRAZY!
KAT + Bridges (or Hart) is a pretty good starting point...

KAT or Myles Turner?
May sound crazy at first glance but Myles is an elite defender and rim protector that has developed into a very good 3 point shooter as well. Totally switchable and can guard the perimeter well. Wish there was a way to get Turner here. If we could magically turn KAT into Turner + Nesmith, I think this team would take a big big jump.
The answer is both. But teams are not waiting in line to trade us their good players, and this is particularly why I would hope this board could show more gratitude towards and patience with what has already been accomplished so far.
I know Towns is not Jokic and not Giannis, but he is clearly next in line. Bridges may not be Jimmy Butler or Jaylen Brown, but his contract fits under our cap and he is very useful and versatile. He has proven to be capable of being everything we need. You just don’t find many players like that. Why not be patient and see how this goes.
Remember that Tatum and Brown have come up short many times before and neither SGA nor Donovan Mitchell are champions already.

We can't. Brunson, Mikal, OG, KD, KAT totalizes 205,8M. we cant complete the roster and keep under 2 apron (207,8M).
Looks like Knicks will have to put Brunson in the deal then!

I have my money on the Knicks trading Mitch this offseason. Ever since his return I was wondering what is up with that situation. I know Mitch had ankle surgery and everything and was out for 8 months, but even by that standard they have been very very cautious with him. IMO even too cautious to a certain degree. Looking at the very limited minutes that he plays (16min. a game) to me it seems that their only real mission with Mitch is demonstrating the league that he can stay on the court and then hoping for a good playoff run where he may be playing 20-25min. so that his value is maximized. I think it is a last ditch type of effort to have other teams view him as a bit more than only an expiring contract.
I think they'll either trade him alone or package him for a more durable PF/C.

I think Deuce, Dadiet and Kolek will be gone soon, we might hold onto Mitch, but maybe not. We’re either getting Kessler (ideally plus Sexton) or Donte somehow.
I’d also love to get Orlando’s Wendell Carter Jr. Myles Turner would be incredible, but the contract will be too big. Capela would also be a big time addition in free agency as it wouldn’t require a any players going out, but he’d probably signing a bigger contract. And then there’s still Jakob Poeltl, a perfect fit.
Those are the type of moves I want to see.

So we gut our team for KD and give him a supporting cast worse than the Suns with a head coach who will run KD to the ground in the regular season. Then the playoffs come and the Celtics have always had an answer for KD in the playoffs.
Still the same 2nd round exit team that we have been or maybe even miss the playoffs altogether, with even less picks.

Brunson is a ball hog and needs to be traded along with Hart

Mitch is pretty good, so I think this is only a good trade if we add another proven center somehow.

Whoever we can get for the MLE if we have an MLE. I don't know anymore with this apron stuff.

Been thinking about the exact same names as well but there is a common snag. Kessler at this point is not attainable for us without parting with one of the top 5. In terms of value Kessler>>>>Mitch (as of today, simply due to health) and also Kessler is still on a rookie contract. I also read multiple articles suggesting the Jazz are not looking to trade Kessler at this point at all anymore (obviously always barring a crazy offer). We don't even have the picks to make a crazy offer. That package --Kessler, Sexton--was realistic last offseason but that ship has sailed.
Like you mentioned yourself, Capela can likely get another bigger contract. Keep in mind he is 30 years old so I doubt he'd be signing discounted contracts at this stage. Probably gonna get 3years/40mill. somewhere. Maybe the Hawks would be willing to work a sign and trade with Mitch and 2nd rounders going back? Capela IMO is worse than Mitch but more durable. Could be that sort of compromise. Also Atlanta is usually not that hard to deal with and at 30 he fits the timeline as well. Anyone know why he seems to be declining already so early? Looks like he is headed that back up role...
Turner is impossible. Will be getting around 30mill. per year on his new contract. Wendell Carter has that outside shot and free throw shooting going for him but in reality he is not THAT much more durable than Mitch. Has basically missed around 40% of his games as well and is not a rim protecting force. I would consider him but to me he is more of a backup on a title contender than starter.
One name I'll throw out because he is a CAA guy---Santi Aldama. Probably pretty unrealistic but he could be a sort of strategic move. Currently getting 13/7/3 on 37% from 3 and having a very good year. I could see him getting 18/8/4 type of numbers next season. Will probably be getting a nice extension anyways and I don't even realistically see how we could get him here. Also don't know about his defense---just thinking about him in terms of picking up an asset that may double in value next year. This is likely why Memphis is going to keep him anyways.
One final name that may indeed by available for the non-taxpayer-MLE: Brook Lopez --brings outside shooting and shotblocking. Shooting 37% from 3 and 82% from the FT line. Getting still 2 blocks a game and still playing 32minutes a game. Just turned 37 so you could possibly talk him into signing a 2year deal for the exception in hopes of a final title run in NY. Has the New Jersey ties so may be interested.....Could be the most realistic and suitable option as a guy that can flatout shoot and provide that rim protection and is likely good enough to play those 25minutes a game. Picking him up would free us up more to deal Mitch.
So in essence: Hope to pick up Lopez and than decide between Mitch or Capela. Either have Lopez/Mitch splitting the 48minutes at Center or Lopez/Capela. Getting Carter/Aldama would make most sense if the team believes Hukporti is good enough to give us 20 minutes a game next season because either Mitch, Capela or Lopez can play the 4.
