I'm putting my faith and trust in the fact that Morey and company can draft in the middle and lower part of the draft and do it well. So at the top of the draft it should be easy.....you would think right!

Odd post. Edgecombe is a phenom.
Edgecombe is the secondary ballhandler in the S5 that we've been lacking since forever. He's the ideal running mate to either Maxey or McCain. A Derrick White type of swiss army knife but with more scoring upside.

Okoro was a linebacker cosplaying as a hooper.
Of the top 10 guys, outside of Harper, Flagg and Kon nobody got the rim at a higher frequency than Edgecombe. He's flashed self creation juice and is a much better and more translatable shooter (C&S/movement). VJ walks into the league as a top five guard defender with elite connective passing.
Might not have the “star” upside his peers do but I 100% believe he can be the 3rd best player on a chip team.
VJ, CMB and Knueppel are the only guys I'm debating between after Flagg and Harper are off the board.

There's major misconception regarding Kon Knueppel and his skillset. Too many people are boxing him into the Kevin Huerter archetype and using that to justify him being a bad pick or a “complimentary piece”.
He’s a better creator bet than a lot of these flawed guys.
Reaves/Bane level player.

I hear ya, I don’t like the idea of burning top 3 picks on guys who virtually have no shot of being an alpha offensively. So you have him as a better prospect than Jaden Ivey? I don’t even see him as that good with the ball.

100%. Reaves is exactly the guy I think of with Knueppel, with probably the highest floor of anyone in the top 10 aside from Flagg and Harper.
I'd be thrilled to walk out of this with Kon or VJ.

Agree. he’s in the same tier of shot creators as Grimes, McCain, and Maxey. High IQ, plays winning basketball.
I’m fine with him if we’re going the conservative route, more like a top 10–30 pick. Personally, I’m leaning toward a mix of conservative and high-upside swings at the 5th–6th spot.

Who are your high upside swings if you wanted to go for the home run between picks 3-6?

Mock at page 26
Vj Edgecombe and Maluach at page 27
Tre Johnson and Kasparas at page 28
Swing Skills:
- Edgecombe: Take scoring into another level and and create good looks for others
- Maluach: Capable of hitting threes and atleast shoot over smaller defenders that would switch
- Tre Johnson:Take scoring into another level and create good looks for others.
- Kasparas: Take scoring into another level and create good looks for others.

Here's one of those rim running 7fters who will be in the league for 10 years if they don't get injured. Doesn't matter that they shoot like dog ****, they play great defense, are fluid athletically, and can jump out of the gym.

Edgecombe can create a little more than I realized. He's probably not a future MVP candidate, but I can see him becoming an All-Star. STOCKS of 3.0 per 36 has me excited.
I'm not going to sweat over his height. Even if he's 6'4", he plays like he's 6'6".

The most likely Sixer scenario would be losing the pick, because that would be the most demoralizing. But after that, it would be getting Flagg and him having a continued reputation in the NBA as a guy who comes up lame in the clutch.

Re: 2024-2025 College Basketball / NBA Draft
Btw, I’m back on board with Tre Johnson. Currently, the All-NBA potential talents in this draft, imo, are:
Flagg
Harper
Tre
Fears
Queen
I think Queen has the biggest mountain to climb since he needs to completely overhaul his body.
I can tell Tre’s favorite NBA player is Kobe. He has that type of iso offensive game that’s built in elite footwork. And he can make an all NBA team without playing a lick of defense.
Edgecombe would make sense making the list, but I don’t feel like that iso game is ever going to reach elite status like it could with the aforementioned list. Still love him as a prospect, but you need to completely be the focus of the defense to reach that level of NBA stardom and I don’t feel like that’ll be the case for him.

Who projects to be a better defender between Tre Johnson and Kon Knueppel? Their numbers on offense look very similar with Tre scoring more, Kon rebounding more, and everything else very close.

Haven’t watched enough Kneuppel, but I’d say him sight unseen. It’s remarkable how often Tre lets guys just blow by him. It’s constantly and with little resistance.

Fade Queen.
Undersized bigs that can't protect the rim or switch onto the perimeter are red flags.
Derik Queen instantly destroys your roster malleability and just isn’t talented enough offensively to compensate for that.
Besides Murray-Boyles I'm drafting Maluach over Queen out of straight principle.
