Nah, every team on the cusp has had plenty of chances to not put themselves in that situation. I'm not really against league-wide seedings but the travel would be worse. But even with that, the first round matchup (as of today) would be LAL-GS 7-10.

I would love to see a no conference tournament where the top seed gets to choose their matchup so they can choose a worse opponent or choose an opponent based on travel. Would be kind of funny and could create some heated rivalries because of the implications.

Crazy that the 3 seed is still up for grabs.

I was thinking about this the other day. No NBA team has ever had 50 wins and missed the playoffs. While I don't think it will happen this year, damn it will have been close.

The 7th seed will have 49 wins or less. Only one of the Clippers and the Warriors can have 50 wins. Same goes for the Nuggets and the Grizzlies. Win 50 games and a team will be seeded 5th or higher.

We’re lucky Kyrie got hurt. Dallas would be a problem

Huh....but Warriors would feast the ghost of Klay right off the court leaving Irving and AD.

Sad to watch Klay drift around on offense and defense.

Klay wouldn’t be closing when Kyrie comes back.

Kyrie/max/pj/ad/lively is a huge team

I don't hate the Warriors playing Houston or OKC in the first round. In fact I prefer it to playing the Lakers. Experience is only an advantage if the other team doesn't have it.

And if the Warriors can't beat one of Wolves or the next playin opponent, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

The Title should be renamed to 8th Seed Watch, no?

Currently 6th, but I don't see the Twolves losing any more games. That makes the Clippers game pretty much a must-win in order to avoid the play-in.

Not if Kerr and team sleep walk on Portland. This has been done many times this season.

Then it doesn't matter.

I think it's more than just that one. the ones vs the jazz, sixers or the depleted nuggets were as bad as that one.

Not necessarily. There are ties that the Warriors would lose out on. For instance, if Minnesota wins out (not unlikely, they play Brooklyn and Utah) and the Warriors do the same, the Clips (assuming they beat Kings tonight), Warriors, and Wolves would tie, and Minnesota would own the tiebreaker. That puts them in 6th and and the Warriors 7th.

If Memphis beats Denver tonight, there could be a 4 or 5 team tie, all with 33 losses. Denver plays Houston (resting everybody) on Sunday, so tonight is a big game.
