KAT and Mitch together defeats the purpose of having KAT
Might as well have just kept Randle at that point.

How so? I'm not advocating Deuce start. I know he is too small. That's what I've been saying.nedleeds wrote:prophet_of_rage wrote:The last time? Maybe the 89-90 Pistons? But Dumars was 6'4 not 6'1.HEZI wrote:
When is the last time an undersized backcourt like that worked? The roster will will leave you fixing one issue and creating another no matter how much you try

Joe Dumars was all nba 1st team defense 5 times, finals mvp and walked into the hall of fame. Zeke wasc5 time all nba, 12 time all star, finals mvp. It worked because both walked into the hall of fame. We are so moribund and deranged we have deuce McBride in the same conversation as Dumars.
Because they pinned the Boston loss on not having Deuce on the floor. It has been obvious all year Deuce isn't shooting well. He showed yesterday he cannot defend a guard under 6'3 whocxan score. So we have to not talk about him.Wildcat wrote:Not nearly enough people are talking about how disappointing of a season Deuce is having. But Thibs wouldn't put Hart on Cade. Mikal guarded Cade most of the time this year. Hart spent most of the last Pistons game guarding a limited offensive threat in Ausur Thompson and other off-ball players. Thibs tries to hide Hart off the ball defensively as much as possible. He could have attempted the same thing with Deuce this game but he chose not to.
Every time Cade got off the bench, Deuce got off the bench. That is the role Mikal has had much of the year. Thibs would never put Hart in that position. Cade would have had a length and also a quickness advantage over Hart too.

KAT is defensively is a PF to me, Mitch is the guy who anchors and works better at the 5 in Tom's scheme.
Mitch/KAT/OG/Bridges/Brunson should be the play. If I'm gonna have a non shooter out there, let it be Mitch who defends and is a threat to finish.

also, kat was doing things like blocking out for mitch. he may suck at defense, but he puts in a more consistent effort than randle. having those two 7 footers down low is a totally different presence than mitch/randle gave us. i hoped kat at c would suffice, but i'm all in on the twin towers at this point

Deuce started the season highly confident. Showed leadership, talking to rookies about playing hard for Thibs in garbage minutes. Then how was he rewarded? No consistency or trust from the coach. Guy got his chain yanked. It makes total sense that he’s having a rough season.

Brunson's ankle will be "sore" tomorrow.
KAT will have injury management.
We're trying to get to Cleveland's side of the bracket.
Wonder if Indiana recognizes and tanks themselves?

Yeah idk about KAT giving effort. Too many times he is ball watching and does the laziest close outs ever. Thats why he’s literally graded at the bottom of centers on defense on metrics. We never had that problem before.
