Defense cost them this one (which is odd for this team), but they've got serious, serious bullpen issues when they get outside the top 2-3 guys

Bullpen issues as well as offense. They collectively don't hit the ball hard, don't pull the ball, and don't hit home runs. I'm sure it will come eventually for Vladdy and Santander, but that's literally it as far as power threats in the lineup. The starting pitching has been incredible, but if they can't hit and only have 2 relievers, then they'll be in trouble over the long haul.

Maybe Ed Rogers can start paying this guy more too so he can actually get ejected in games like this

Was just about to post this myself. As brutal as it looked in real time. Stolen strikeouts, gifted walks.

Awful.

Yea, the eye test showed this too. I get it that some umps have weird zones. But at least call it like that for both teams. He was clearly squeezing the Jays hitters and pitches. Gave them nothing borderline. But the ball to Casas was the most egregious and cost them the game.

Same guy ejected Springer last summer after not calling a clear HBP off his foot, which made Springer get angrier than anyone has ever seen him on a baseball field.

It would seem he has it out for this organization.

12 of his 14 incorrect calls were against the Jays.

That’s outrageous.
