He really doesn’t get any looks though. Not saying you’re wrong but they don’t run any sets thru him.

I don't really know that they can, but transferring would be in his best interests. TBH going to a weaker league where he will get reps is in his best interests - go to a school like Utah State, one of the Big Sky schools (Weber/Montana/Montana State) or see if he can stick and start for a rebuilding program like Washington.

The injury to Bilodeau seems to have opened PT at UCLA for Mara and he's played well in his last 3 games.

22 points on 7 for 7 shooting in a 2 point win is exceptionally good. It's truly incredible how much a career path can depend on just being in the right place at the right time and just having the right people believe in your ability. Of course, if you just work hard, it increases the chances of you maximizing those opportunities when they pop up.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Finally Cronin seems to give him some leeway, even taking advantage of his playmaking.

Per 40 stats went from 15/8/3.3 stocks as a freshman, to 19.5/12.3/5.5 in year 2. True Shooting from under .500 to just under .600 in a year.

Zubac with better playmaking ability and some endurance issues

Mara hasn't even turned 20 yet.

if he were zubac with better playmaking, just concern about endurance, he'd be a top 10 pick.

zubac with better playmaking is great player. zubac with the same playmaking is a damn good player. endurance issues can be fixed. you get "just" zubac out of this draft, he's a top 5 lock. if not top 3.

How Mara could spend 2 years in a college program with what I can only assume is a decent training staff and plenty of nutritional planners and still look like a 12 year old who plays Fortnight 8 hours a day is a mystery to me. His natural looks are so youthful I might be over-reacting here but to me he look just nowhere near a competitive athlete.

He is a longgggg term project for the next level. I am not denying his nice feel and excellent touch for his size, nor his passing or his surprising motor. But physically he is just nowhere close.

If all the stars align the best comp is Big Z IMO. I personally dont see it. I think a shorter, better passing Shawn Bradley is a bit more apt. A backup rim protector who can throw the other team off with his massive size and length.

I can see him late R1 as a developmental guy (A team like BRK with numerous swings would be a good landing spot) - but could also see him dropping into the 40's if a team doesnt fall in love.

 Let him show he's an actual first round pick first. Career 11 MPG guy, and i assume he's still going to come off the bench behind Wolf and Landeborg.

Is Wolf returning? He would be crazy to return IMO.

The ucla head coach is a disaster. Tell me one good player he has developed. May is the big man whisperer. Vlad will even get drafted. They will run the offense thru Mara and he may average 18/10
