Since everybody's talking about DET being 3-1 vs Knicks in the RS...one of those wins was without KAT, and last night's win was without OG, Hart, and Robinson, and they still weren't by huge margins.

I think most would favor the Celtics and the Cavs over them, but I also think they're being underplayed by some in this thread. I think they're the #3 team in the conference and - with the big caveat that they be whole and healthy, which hasn't been easy for them - I don't think they'll necessarily be an easy out for anyone.

They are more dangerous offensively but less dangerous defensively than last year's team. With that, I have no idea how they will perform. Detroit could be that matchup that stifles them.

Obviously studied under a great wordsmith.

OT, the Pistons pose a very real threat to the Knicks, if they are not locked in. The one thing they have going for them is experience. That roster understands, and knows what a big game is. The Pistons main contributors are all new to this, and by this, I mean just winning games.

Sure they have Harris, Beasley, Hardaway, and Schroder, who all have vast amounts of playoff experience, but Cade-0 Duren-0 Ausar-0 Holland-0 That is a huge advantage for the Knicks, one that is almost insurmountable for a young team like the Pistons. No one also knows how Cade is going to perform in the playoffs, when it really matters. He has the style of game that should translate, but you don't know, until you know.

To me though, all of this is gravy. All I want, as a fan of the Pistons is a playoff game win. The season is already a resounding success, a win would be the cherry on top.

Now next year? Better do some work in these playoffs Knicks, because next season the Pistons are not gonna start the season learning how to win, and they will have their whole team back, experience, and possibly with some big damn additions.

So who would win a series between the Knicks and the Wizards?

Now 0-11 vs The Cavs, Celtics and Thunder this season, including blowing a 20 plus lead against the Cavs at MSG who rested Spida and several other players.

Detriot has the golden ticket to make it to the second round now.

Knicks will roll over Pistons in playoffs, I remember OKC was 4-0 vs Portland in the regular season but Portland dispatched them in 5 games in the playoffs. Starting next weekend, who cares about regular season games.

all the minutes will catch up to them and they'll fail to make the Finals because their head coach rides his starters too much

The Knicks *should* beat the Pistons, but it’s gonna take KAT putting on his big boy pants, abusing Duren inside and out and getting Stewart in foul trouble to get Duren even more minutes. I know KAT *can* do that, but I don’t know if he will. Detroit has multiple defenders to make Brunson less of a factor than he usually is, so it really is on Towns to step the eff up.

I’ve seen KAT take himself out of multiple playoff games by being a moronic offensive foul machine. If that happens a couple times and the pressure isn’t too much for the young Pistons, they could steal this.

Thibs is not known for playoff success either.

In these type of even match ups, you go for the team with the best player and that is The Pistons with Cade (who clearly has leapfrogged Brunson this season)

Will they be healthy? They haven’t been most of the season. Constantly missing one or more key guys. They can beat anyone in a 7 game series if they’re healthy, although they wouldn’t always be favourites. I they need Mitchell to be healthy too. It feels like a big ask.

Why was Brunson an all star starter this season and not Cade?

Brunson averaged 32.9 points and 7.5 assists in the playoffs last season, and averages the most points in the league in the clutch this season. Cade hasn’t even played a playoff game in his career yet. What a dumb assertion to make.

Im not worried about health. Everybody is healthy right now on the knicks. The last few games were about load management right before the playoffs as we had no chance to ascend and pretty much locked up 3rd. This is actually the healthiest the knicks have been going into the playoffs.

I worry more about Grit with this team and coaching. Jalen is one of the best clutch players cuz that's pretty much the game plan ir how we've won. Other times it just seems everyone's watching
