Giannis and KPJ 40+ Everyone else just ride whoever is playing well / not getting torched..

Unless you’re starting him (which I think you should) no way KPJ plays 40+, that means giving him 3 mins rest max after the first stint with the starters. A good 32-40 mins would be the best. Rollins plays most of the other PG mins and about 5 minutes alongside KPJ.

one might be tempted to conclude that we would be better off with KPJ at the 1 and trading Dame and the 31 1st for an athletic, two way wing, but i dont even know who you get for that package.

I think there’s some merit to getting a more offensively versatile player who can play both sides of the ball, but that player would still have to be really good to justify moving Dame.

I’d like a player you could run pick n roll for, both as the handler and screener, someone you could post up, who can cut, and operate in the middle of the defense and make shots or passes over the top. Basically describing a lot of what Khris gave us, and just generally a wing, but the state of wings around the league is weird right now.

I think if you could move Dame for KD, you’re better off, but after that things get dicey fast.

Cade isn’t a possibility. Franz probably isn’t either. Kawhi would be interesting, but the guy is even more injury prone than Khris, and there’s no rumor he’s available. Jimmy has already been dealt. Khris and PG aren’t the same players they were. BI was just dealt.

So then what? Mikal? I’d like him here quite a bit, in part, because he represents the complete opposite of what we’ve been the past few years - available to play. He, amazingly, hasn’t missed a game in his career. But the Knicks were idiots and blew their wad on him, by giving up 5 FIRSTS+ to get him, and I doubt they’d want to move him for significantly less. Maybe something where Dame goes to Phx, Mikal goes here, and KD goes to NY, but I’m not super enamored with that deal.

The next option is finding a younger prospect who you believe in, but there aren’t a lot of those guys right now, and you might be able to acquire them without giving up Dame. Cody Williams? Kyshawn George?

The last option is just seeing what you could do with Kuzma and the ‘31 1st. I saw a recent proposal on the trade board of Kuzma + ‘31 1st for Cam Johnson + a worse 1st (I think it might have been a future Cleveland 1st). I think you’d have to take that, and it would clearly make us better. How much? I don’t know, but it would help.

Then move that 1st and a swap for another big like Mark Williams.

Dame Rollins
KPJ Green
Cam Dre
Giannis someone
Mark Bobby

Get a different coach, and that team could be really dangerous.

What do we think about Minnesota as a potential Dame destination?

Have been thinking a lot about a Dame-LaVine-Markkanen framework lately.

have more accessible games, especially on sundays. no one goes to those sunday night games. just put them at noon or 3 depending on when the packers play. you'll have dudes at sports bars near fiserv watching the packers and then heading over to the Bucks game half in the bag and ready to rumble. they'll either be all keyed up after a packer win or sad as hell after a packers loss and needing salvation. it's a win/win. or if packers are at 3, reverse it.

a boon to the local economy, a boost to the home crowd energy.

what, you dont think they want to watch the bucks because of fantasy football? they can watch games and track stats from their phones in the arena between the action.

no one wants to go to a basketball game at 7 pm (or sometimes 8!) on a sunday night, it's a huge bummer.

A lot depends on how the playoffs shake out. A team who gets bounced early may look to make a big move(s).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Thinking about Utah as a facilitator in a Dame deal.

Walker Kessler as center of the future?

Bucks have been linked to Collin Sexton and John Collins previously for contract filler.

What else we’d be getting back and other teams involved are all major variables of course.

But those three work if we’re just thinking about the salaries.

I think the hindsight here is that Dame was the wrong kind of player to go all in on in the context of this new era of the NBA. Where we now have teams like OKC, Boston, and Cleveland, the old top heavy model feels archaic to say the least. At the same time, it was certainly not a bad trade, value wise. And i dont remember very many people expressing much doubt in the decision at the time.

Simply put, i think you need 6 to 7 guys now who can all shoot, pass, dribble and defend, with little exception. None of Boston or OKCs top offensive players are defensive liabilities. Hell OKC's defensive studs still all have decent offensive games. It's absolutely nuts, it's not changing any time soon, and pretty soon we are going to lose whatever veteran edge we may or may not have as these young teams gain experience. I really dont know what you do in this situation.

The defensive & overall liability AJ Green has finished best on the team in d-rating in back-to-back seasons, #2 behind Giannis in net rating this yr.

Giannis/KPJ/Green lineups now up to +37 with an offensive rating of 133 and defensive rating of 96.

Like all the Dame trade ideas. Still highly, highly skeptical he will have any trade value. The blood clot issue and his large salary slot will have a number of teams not want to go there. Best case he gets healthy and we can keep KPJ to play with him.

My hope is Deni Avdija is super annoyed with Portland benching him at crunch time down the stretch for purposes of tanking, and asks out. He's the perfect wing for us.

We didn't hear of a single team that expressed concern over Brandon Ingram's blood clot last offseason. The only concern expressed was his impending contract.

Wow, I didn’t realize he was a wing at 6’9 240, that’s more old school interestingly.

He is what Kyle Kuzma should've been.

I think you agree with me that Sacramento would look past just about anything to put a marquee name next to Sabonis and appear relevant.

Even 80% of prime Khris would've been an unbelievably good fit with the existing quartet of Giannis/KPJ/Green/GTJ. That lineup with like '20-'23 Khris would be unreal. Makes his physical decline so much more upsetting, we could've had that this season if he had a bit more left in the tank and we never made the Kuzma trade.

As it stands I'd be looking to see what talented shot creating wing we could get for Dame + 2031 1st.

Some rough framework
FVV, Eason for Dame
McCollum, Herb Jones for Dame

Those salaries get you in the range to deal and gives you PG sized SG that I think would work well with our team. I think something like that could work
