Game 82: Pistons at Bucks - 4/13/25 - Noon - ESPN/FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sat Apr 12, 2025 3:51 pm

Giannis and hopefully Brook will sit. Bobby probably gets some minutes since he was out so long . Beyond that I have no idea who plays and I don't really care.

I'll have a Pacers Lead-up thread up later tomorrow after we know the first round schedule.

I really hope this isn't Marques' last regular season game (local networks get to do first round playoff games). He'll turn 70 during next season. I'm fine if he continues to not do a full season as long as he continues on.

Let's keep the discussion in this thread on this game and talk about the Pacers and other Bucks stuff in the team thread until the lead-up thread goes up. Thanks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bobby's conditioning has looked fine so he may get the day off. But if he plays, I hope he plays 35 minutes because he's going to have the ultimate green light and if his 3 is falling he may score 80 points and I'm only being slightly hyperbolic.

I know Smith has an ankle sprain but what is the deal with Nance? He was in street clothes vs NO but not on the injury report. Really need both to innings eat during the game.

Goes without saying Giannis/Brook/Bobby/KPG/Prince/Rollins/Green/Trent should be in street clothes.

Bouyea
Umude
Jackson
Pat/Livingston
Nance/Smith(hopefully active)

Everybody should sit but the game is on ESPN so the league could retaliate if we did that.

Yeah, playing any of the 9 guys who played last game in this one would be organizational malpractice.

I'd dare them to do it. Last game of the season for both teams with no standings implications. They have to realize it'd be worse for them for either team to lose somebody now.

When the Pistons bouncy swingman who is a twin to a similarly-playing wing in Houston gives an interview in which he deliberately answers in a close-mic'd whisper that is when I call him ASMR Thompson, feel free to use no big deal.

Last nights game for Giannis felt like his Rodgers “I still own you” moment against the Bears. After such a roller coaster season, feeling like a dark horse right now is really exciting. The legacy of Giannis can grow times a million by surpassing Dirks 2011 run as the greatest post season run in NBA history. I’m so ready for it. Bucks in 6. **** the Pistons!
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

Last game of the season the league won't say anything about sitting guys. The whole east will be scrubs

Cool that Smith is available. I don't belive in him, hope he changes my mind.

Smart that they're making Kuzma play into shape.

Sucks that we don't have a interesting youngsters playing tomorrow. All 3- 2 way contracts are seasoned veterans, for reasons I don't understand

Kuzma will feel at home with that lineup

This is one of those games where if I was on the roster I would be insulted if I was told to suit up.

I think Kuzma would get into better shape just running & working w/ Dame's drill sergeant that whipped him into shape before last postseason. You don't streamline your body by playing basketball. But Doc's in the "let's get Kuz going" mindset.

I like that Rollins is being asked to take a leadership role in case we need that in a moment in the playoffs. But if we lose him, assuming Dame never returns, it wouldn't be devastating. Because we don't need his d as much now. He's also bad at getting around screens, so he's not Derrick Jones.

I wish we had given a trial to Sims here to see how a moderate thumb problem actually impacts his game. I don't think it does much, but you ideally wouldn't want to test that out on the fly. W/out this, it's looking like it'll be more Giannis at the 5, even Bobby, is the plan for when Brook can't do it.

I was going to take the family to the game tomorrow, since it’s at noon (6 and 3 year old that had a blast back in December), but not sure I can stomach the lineup we will be trotting out there. Especially if StubHub prices don’t come down severely. $57 apiece after fees for 4 tickets is the cheapest at the moment. What?! I’ve paid $15 after fees when starters are playing.

run the offense thru kuzma/green like giannis /dame. see if these mfers can play together or whether we need to break them up.

livingston needs to prove to me he deserves a spot. im done defending mediocre young guys that dont get playing time that may have something if they did

is it ok im demanding answers? or am i being unreasonable?

Generally speaking I think you need to be able to make a call on young guys between their 2nd and third seasons. It's been for sure concerning that at multiple points we've had an acute need for what Livingston theoretically brings and he hasn't gotten an opportunity. That could be him or it could be Doc, or maybe most likely some of each.

He can for sure do some things at a NBA level but has never fully clocked as a basketball player to me. I just want to see what he's got against real players. We'll likely get a b-squad game here and that's better than nothing, but not by much.

livingston strikes me as the type of guy on other teams that ive never heard of on random weeknights when im watching us get smacked and im like what is this random guy defending and hitting a 3?

or the aternative thought is.....maybe i just i dont watch enough to be a true fan of the nba to keep up with it all besides the bucks and these guys mostly just suck and its a thing most fans deal with who watch casually or some mess. a guy whose getting burn and sucks alot of the time but hit a shot or two etc etc...

but which is it?

are we just like the only team that cant draft and develop guys that have some athleticism and bang enough and hit a 1/3 of their 3s or what?
to me he hits the boxes. hes got the resume. wtf right?

livingston always felt like that to me. maybe im a nut

Bobby resting? He's just had 20+ games of rest. They could have come up with something a little more believable for the injury report.
