25 games in: ortg/drtg/net/reb%
4th quarter: 112.0 (15th) worse / 122.3 (29th) / -10.3 (29th) / 48.6 (22nd)
overall: 120.2 (2nd) / 113.7 (13th) / +6.5 (6th) / 50.5 (13th)
overall, defense has improved the past 7 games bumping up the drtg ranking and the net is still very good.
but the 4th quarter performance is still really bad. only team worse in the 4th are the raptors.
this is such a drastic change from how the team played the past 2 years. 4th quarter used to be lockdown time but it's the opposite now.

Biggest identity change is no elite 5 with game changing defensive gravity in the middle of the paint.

concerning. it's either fatigue or thibs being outcoached - other teams adjusting and we're not.

The biggest identity change is that we don’t rebound and have ZERO pain defense, as well as NO point of attack defense

Very noticible when perusing the box scores especially in 2025.

OG will end up guarding Cade at some point in the series. Probably even game 1 and then the Pistons will have nothing else. That team is us before we got Kat and Bridges. Iso the point guard to death and hope for good shooting. The series would be even easier if coach would just start Mitchell and let Hart come off the bench, but he won't do that. Anyway, ya'll are too worried about this series. It's Boston afterwards that's a worry since we can't guard a pick and pop to save our lives.

Hmm, how could that possibly be explained…?
I don't know but, it shows we're not the worst!
We’re relying too much on starters so they’re not that quick in late game situations anymore. Offensively, all we do is ISO-Brunson, and I don’t get it. This team will be able to do a lot more soon enough.

Sorry all your takes about this team aged like spoiled milk. Can't wait to ship KAT and Mikal away this summer. Maybe next time you'll get something right about our team.

Re: Biggest identity change has been the 4th quarter
Weird stats considering we have the best clutch player on the team and we have a great record protecting leads but I hope it's something they are aware of and are studying it to see how to fix it or make it better. Maybe those end of the 3rd subs and lineups to start the 4th are the culprit. Maybe sub both JB and KAT around the 6 or 7 mark of the 3rd and have them play 10 mins or the entire 4th. Currently we sub out KAT around the 5 minute mark of the 3rd but he comes back towards the end. JB either plays the entire 3rd or subs out around the 2-3 minute mark and doesn't come back until the 7-8 mark of the 4th.
