Yeah. Obviously Lebron always inspires fear (the basketball gods always seem to smile on him), and Luka completely shredding Jaden/Rudy in pick & roll last year still gives me nightmares. I think guarding Lebron on-ball is pretty easy these days, but if we put Randle/Naz on him, I worry more about Lebron's off-ball attack.

But we're pretty equipped to bomb their conservative defense from 3, and hurt them on the offensive glass a bit. The Wolves have shown a willingness to really jack from 3 if teams want to dare us to. This whole Luka-era of the Lakers has been defined by them daring teams to shoot and living/dying from the shooting luck. They got good shooting luck for a while, and looked like an elite defense. Then the shooting luck swung, and their defense looked like nothing.

Their defense is really similar to Dallas, but without the elite rim protection. It's like a defense made out of lesser-PJ Washingtons.

Lively, and gafford to a lesser extent beat us. La doesn't have that.

My thoughts w lal is who guards luka. Jaylen and naw?.. Finch wouldn't change his starting lineup..

So then, who?

Disrupting luka and annoying him is an easy route to beating lal imo.

I would play naw Jaden and even Clark a bunch and just full court press Luka for the whole series and wear him out. Ditto for LeBron if you can.

Big thing in wolves favor is that Lakers don't have the lob threats that Dallas had last year. That let's Gobert roam the paint more and my have to worry about anybody

Jazz might be motivated to win in order to improve their draft pick from Minnesota, but I don't think they have enough of a roster left at this point to do it. They'd need Sexton, Lauri, Kessler, Collins, etc., and all those guys have been shut down.

Jazz are probably going to start Filipowski, Sensabaugh, Micah Potter, etc. They may not even play Isaiah Collier. So this is probably a non-story. It's the perfect game for Ant to sit out.

If he gets tech 18 in game 82 does he get suspended for the first playoff/playin game, or is it game 1 of the next regular season?

Neither.

If a player receives his 16th technical foul during the final game of the regular season, his suspension does not carry over into the postseason or the ensuing regular season.

Who do we expect to win tomorrow, LAC or GSW? I was thinking about it, I still think OKC is beatable if the refs give SGA the Embiid treatment in the playoffs (much fewer ticky tack free throws, and allow more physical defense against him.) That said, I do wonder if the Lakers having so many poor defenders (Doncic, Reaves, Vincent, ect…) might be exploitable for easy offense. Or offense tends to drive our defense and that could turn out really favorably for us against LAL. In every series I think the refs decide who wins. The team that is allowed to physically defend is the team that will advance.

Their matchup against Dallas was LOL both fanbases crying about not getting calls, they were soo coddled and used to Doncic and Gilgeous just getting a foul on any little contact.

It’s a little more complicated.

Yes, the Jazz and Wizards are tied for the worst record in the NBA. However, keep in mind that the lottery odds are flattened for the four worst teams, so beating the Wolves would not affect their odds. In fact, the only way that a win hurts them is the statistically unlikely event that BOTH WAS and UTA didn’t win a Top 4 pick in the lottery. If the Jazz win tomorrow, it would likely only turn a coin flip between pick 5 and 6 into UTA automatically getting #6.

Meanwhile, UTA owns MIN’s pick from the Gobert trade, which is currently a coin flip between Picks 20 and 21. If they could tag MIN with a loss, it could become a coin flip between Picks 18-20. Moreover, it would knock MIN into the Play-In tournament, where the inconsistent Wolves could lose, turning that pick into #14.

Inconsistent Wolves ! You are harsh.... i would say not totally consistent :)

GSW LAC is quite open. I don’t see Denver loosing . I still don’t prefer we ended 4 or 5 and play Denver then OKC if we pass.
LAL with Luka and the refs are too much to handle.

Hoopshype says Curry is questionable with a right thumb sprain, (Steph is right handed.) I would not be surprised if this cost them game. Even if Curry plays, GSW cannot afford for him to consistently miss shots.

Before tipoff

MIN up to 23.5
DAL now by 2.5 over MEM. I’m wondering if I read that wrong initially, or did news break?
DEN dropped to 6.5,
GSW up to 3.5
