No you’re probably right. We gave up the entire war chest and got one more win for it, it you look at what they gave up to get Hart and OG and add that to the pile it looks even worst.

I think you’re right about what Thibs SHOULD do. Here’s what Maniac WILL do:

Landry Fields will have a busier first round than Landry Shamet.

Landry Shamet in the last two games hit more 3 pointer than Josh Hart in the entire month of january.

Interesting fact:

Shamet previously played on 4 contending teams or at least solid teams and averaged 23 minutes and very consistently shot around 38-39% from 3 and he definitely gives effort on defense.

On the Knicks of course he played an average of 11minutes a game until the Brunson injury. Career low. On a team where Thibs apologists are crying that we have no bench and Bridges, Hart and OG are all in the top 5 in minutes. Of course after the injury Thibs hand was forced again (like last season with Hartenstein) and Shamet playe a very very solid final 20 games, shooting 42% from 3, averaging 10points in 20minutes per game. A good, sensible coach would have EASILY been able to play Hart and Bridges each 5 minutes less and given those minutes to someone like Shamet....a decent 8th man.

Coaching malpractice at it's best.

Hart was Cam and a pick, and I get that Knox and a pick was for Cam, but still a good trade.

OG was RJ and IQ, and I think what both IQ and RJ is good, but easily enough replaced, while what OG brings is harder to find.

After that it gets debatable, but lots of factors. Randle coming up for extension, iShart leaving, value of a stretch 5, Wolves insistence on Donte etc.

Mikal can go f*ck off though. That trade sucked and I thought it was good at the time.

A sensible coach:

JB-Bridges-OG-KAT-Mitch with Deuce-Shamet-Hart-Precious off the bench and Payne and Wright possibly.....no one playing more than 33 minutes a game.

Ancient coach with no clue:

JB-Hart-Bridges-OG-KAT with Deuce-Mitch off the bench. All starters in the top 25 in minutes per game, 3 of them in the top 5 ("Wings just play more minutes).....

Tell me that a Hart-Deuce-Shamet-Precious bench with Payne/Wright as 10/11th men are truly a terrible bench! Now it may not be a great bench but it is definitely an average, solid bench. Hart would be a 6th man of the year condidate and you have two aggressive shooters and a bunch of defense.
