Salaun is the biggest disappointment of the lottery. Bar none. Don’t give me any crap about how young he is. He was getting more training in Euro than many college kids do. Tiddy was a massive reach by Peterson.

I don’t see how he has any defenders left. He is horrific at playing the game of basketball. His one trait is his height. He doesn’t think the game, feel the game, have any touch or skill, he effectively lowers the level of basketball being played in every single minute he sees the court.

Just an absolute car crash of a pick. Disaster.

As bad as he is right now..and he’s really bad , he could still be a serviceable player if he just gets to where he can hit 38% 3s on 6-8 attempts per game and cut out almost everything else that he thinks is a good idea fully out of his game

But yea, the idea of him being “raw” never made sense, he’s not some South Sudan refugee that just started playing the game at 15, him and his sister went through the full junior development program. He obviously isn’t lazy and he’s had every opportunity. It’s apparent he simply lacks talent

I really hope our roster is deep enough next year that we can put him in Greensboro for the entire season. He's nowhere close enough for rotation minutes on a team trying to compete. no way he gets to that level by next season.

my stance on Salaun hasn't changed since December.

We will spend his entire rookie contract waiting for him to just maybe become a taller more spazzy Josh Green. there are zero reasons whatsoever to believe that he's actually going to become good

I remember losing my mind in the draft thread when we picked him. I went nuts. Off the rails to be completely honest. Well....I mean i kinda feel justified. I was big on Buzelis, Holland, Clingan. I mean this rookie class was weak but we could have walked away with an actual NBA level prospect with potential. I just hope we learn our lesson in this draft. Even if we fall back in the 5 to 8 range.

some of that is a terrible offensive system in which everyone is bringing everyone else down with them... but that's an excuse you can make if you shoot 52 TS% instead of 56%... if you shoot 43.7 or 45.7 TS%, you suck. that's it. Sorry to both Salaun and KJ but you sucked.

As this pertains to Salaun, I had him 11th pre-draft. I would bump him down to 19th now but really once you get outside the top 5-7 I think everything is pretty fluid still. I still think Salaun could prove to be solid in time, but at time of draft my ranks with us on the clock would have been Topic or Buzelis and that would still be what I would do if we redrafted today.

Eason projects to be a much better player, at least i would think he would shine in another environnement (Detroit?). But Salaun is better than what people thinks, esp in the clutch. but obviously he has to improve quite a lot - consistency in shooting well being the most obvious one - to become a true nba player

Tari Eason turns 24 this week, so yeah he should be better than 19 yr old Tidjane Salaun.

Jalen Green is probably better than Dylan Harper right now too, doesn't mean I would trade the #2 pick for him.

I don't think Al Horford has ever a realistic possibility for tiddy. What makes Horford so great has always been his elite mental processing of the game on both ends of the floor. He's just a brilliant basketball mind who understands where to be at all times on the floor. Understands the right reads to make understands positioning movement passing all those things.. That's why he's still so effective at his age. He's very much like a Rasheed Wallace in that regard, Another player who just had elite mental processing of the game.

(Side note: I remember back when I had bobcat season tickets we played the Pistons one year towards the end of their mid 2000s dynasty. I remember watching a game where sheed Just absolutely dominated the game on both ends and he barely moved. It was crazy to watch how someone who almost didn't even break a sweat just was in the right place on every single possession.. The kind of stuff that you really can't see on tv but great in the arena when you can zoom out and see the big picture and really just focus on a singular player.)

That's the complete opposite of tiddy. I don't think there's a world in which he ever becomes an above average processor on either side of the floor. He will have to rely on elite hustle and elite motor to make up for his lack of processing, imo.

I don't want you to think I'm saying Tiddy will ever be that good, I'm more referring to play style and role.

He's not athletic or springy enough to rely on his hustle in a way that works for the Thompson Twins, Brooks, Eason, etc.
