Yeah, I think for the first time maybe since Bob Ferry in the 70s, we have a FO who knows what it's doing and the owner has agreed to let them cook. It's not just about getting the first or second pick, but also accumulating more first-round picks where hopefully we find the next Kawhi, Jalen or Draymond.

I know luck is important for us to get Flagg or Harper, but I have confidence that Dawkins can figure out how to get more draft picks with some of the veterans that we have.

Reminder that this loss had no bearing whatsoever on our odds for Cooper Flagg or Dylan Harper. It had a small bearing on odds of somebody like Tre Johnson versus somebody like Khaman Maluach, but at this point, after #4, the draft is a total tossup. Nobody even has any idea who the #5 pick is likely to be.

I'm happy that they tried to win rather than disrespect the Lotto Gods.

If we end up at 6 I'll be annoyed, but it really comes down to getting a pick in the top 2, that's the point of the tank. After that its kind of a mish mash of prospects that can flip flop depending on team needs and fit. The quality of player from 5 to 6 is pretty even. At 6 someone like CMB, Maluach, Carter Bryant, could end up being better than whoever goes at 3. I'll trust this FO to sort it out.

Right now I'm just happy for Bub, and for the team to end on a positive note. Something like that I believe just helps add motivation for the offseason.

That was the must SoWizards thing imaginable save for us landing the 6th pick in May, which now I view as a 100% possibility lol. If he can make that shot, lol, of course we're getting hosed in the lottery or maybe.....

I sat behind Otto Porter on a flight once. I think to Miami? Somehow he had brought on a cardboard container of fried chicken and was stinkin up the whole row.
He might have had a size dish of chitlins. (Chitterlings for those not familiar)

I say send Bub to represent us at the drawing. He’s got the karma for this one way or the other. Hopefully papa Bub tosses the right combo for his boy.

What are people in this thread even talking about? The absolute lowest position we can pick is fifth, and that’s if us and Utah are both out of the top three. That’s not going to happen. As has been previously stated, this wind has no effect on our percentages in the top three. On top of that, the average age across the plate was about 21 years old, with the oldest player being Champagnie at 23. It’s not like we won playing Middleton and smart 25 minutes.

The win gives us an extra 10 percent chance of picking sixth (20% as the second worst position, and it would have been a coin flip with the Jazz to be second worst anyway). That assumes a 0% chance of the Jazz winning. Really doesn't change much.

Bub—a leader and competitor. 15pts, 9assists, 7rebs, 1TO.

I’m predicting at least 5 triple doubles for Bub next season.

True. And this win was a nice reward to end the season for a crew who never quit or had a bad attitude despite being overmatched in nearly every game they played. Yeah they were playing against mostly scrubs for the past few games, but they've played with exuberance and good energy ever since Kuzma's loafing ass was traded.

To finish the season on an upnote, with Bub playing all 82 and hitting the last shot, that's got to feel damn good. Tristan crediting him for clean passes all game. The assist to Champagnie on the pass back to the inbounder. Instant veteran. I like his leadership in drawing the team together at half court and calling a play with no time outs. Finishing the game with a 9:1 ast/to ratio. And nice play that he called. Double screen to drive the middle, even though his shot has been unreliable, rewards the kid for attacking and staying aggressive. Now he can get in the weight room and spend the summer getting strong enough to to that all the time.

All the young players have been positive, with good energy in a really crappy year. Fun to watch them growing game by game.

Wizards record 1st 40 games - 6 and 34, 12 win pace
Their record 2nd half of the season - 12 and 30, 24 win pace

I'll take it

If neither UTA nor WAS is drawn for a top 4 pick,
that is the worst case scenario and we would pick 6th,
not 5th. Hopefully our karma (I don't actually believe
in that) is good. Our odds of being drawn improve,
if marginally, if UTA, CHA or NOP are drawn.

Wrong. They can pick 6th. And yea, this is a #soWizards win.

Balls..!

Nobody knows who the best player will be out of this draft. For that matter, having the 2d worst record rather than being tied for the worst record does not appreciably affect our chances at one or another pick position.
