Just looked up the Houston roster and I don't think Houston would pick up the team option on FVV. Only team I think could use him is hometown Chicago. Maybe 3 years $100 million?

I can see them drafting CMB at #12.

PG FVV - Ayo - Lonzo
SG White - Huerter
SF Giddey - PWill
PF Buzelis/CMB - Jalen Smith
C Vucevic - Collins - Jalen Smith

Do me a favour and actually look at my Barnes comments during his rookie year. This is how I know you are full of **** and like I said I stand by my arrogance when discussing things with you. It is obvious that even when I am right about things you will not accept it. Again that shows a bias on YOUR end… if you actually wanted to talk basketball, you would see how obvious the things I say are when I say someone is good or not depending on particular reasons.

Your argument comes down to detailed prediction and it’s stupid. I’m not saying I’m Nostradamus. I can’t tell you the winning lottery numbers. What I can tell you is when I watch someone play, I can make an evaluation on what their potential is based on their skillset. So if you asked me if Norman Powell was gonna be this good at 32 I couldn’t tell you. What I could and did tell you and everyone else was that his combination of athleticism, length, finishing ability and improved /improving jumper, shows more potential at any age, than a guy that literally gets his entire offense from shooting jump shots and has no athleticism handle or finishing ability to speak of. Truthfully if that argument doesn’t make sense to you, again you suck at player evaluation which is why I keep repeating it over and over again.

Boogie, June 25th 2015:

with the addition of these non shooting, defense first guards, we still have no guys that can score or shoot efficiently…

Wow, you are so great at player evaluation and use Norm as your prime example yet you got his profile ENTIRELY WRONG on draft night. Come on dude, give it rest. In fact, you are in that thread complaining about the direction of the franchise (shockingly) less than 3 years before we won a ring with that core. Ready to admit you are not so smart?

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1395031&start=220

Also, you saying this in that thread is pure comedy
people need to learn to make arguments without ad hominem attacks… if you ended your post after the justise winslow thing, that would've been cool… what you wrote after that makes you condescending… in arguments people disagree and therefore both sides are defending their arguments…

I think they pick up the option because:
a) FVV's expiring makes for good salary filler if they choose to make a big trade

b) they actually kinda sucked in the games he missed so he does have value to them

This doesn't change my opinion that Raps should have kept Norm, but nice to see Gary has found a niche in Milwaukee.

Trent, Powell, OG and Pascal have been killing it on their respective teams this season.

The Rockets don't win when fred doesn't play. When he was out they had the worst stretch of the season. He's second in plus/minus.

I suspect he will resign with them at a smaller salary. Or at least I hope he does....I think Udoka is aware that they aren't ready to compete without him.

I’m starting to think they’ll pick up his option. That salary can be used to acquire an all-star/superstar caliber player. If not, his contract will be an expiring so there is no long-term commitment.

He’s a very important piece to that team. They don’t play well without him. Fred won’t get the same kind of money as before but maybe he chooses to stay in Houston at a much lower salary and continue to mentor those young players.

They're expecting to work out an extension on a lower salary apparently.

His efficiency has fallen off a cliff this year but his advanced metrics continue to shine.

Knicks were warming up in these T shirts the last two games. Campaigning for All Defense, like a college Heisman trophy campaign. I think he should make first team this year.

That's the thing. Segun and jalen's new salaries kick in. So I think they basically have to ask fred to resign for a smaller cap hit. Tho I haven't looked at their cap....Jalen + sengun is adding like 70 million.

I hope fred agrees to something like 20 milly per year. He was obviously overpaid. It might be something they already had an understanding about. Like "we'll pay ypu 30 milly per year....but Front-load it. So 40 milly for 2 years, 20 milly for 2 years. That seems fair for both sides.

Houston is the best fit for him. And if anything...he could transition to being a backup guard that plays substantial minutes over the next 2 seasons while their window opens up. They are a year or two behind OKC...so they got like 2 or 3 more seasons with all the depth before they will have to consolidate. Im guessing it will all come to a head when Thompson's first extension goes on the books. Fred should take a haircut so he could stay part of that. Or at least I hope he does.

Lowry is signing here next year right? Not sure other teams like eg. GSW will be interested.
