Dunn’s offseason must be spend entirely working on his shot. I know I’ve mentioned it before but it’s insane that he shot a worse FT % than Shaq ever did in his career. And the 3pt shot is just as embarrassing.

He's just not consistent at all in how he powers his shot which is why he's so damn streaky with the ball some shots barely touch rim and others are far too long.
The free throw issue is something that will come back to bite him for sure if he doesn't want to continually be the victim of hack a Shaq the rest of his career.

You are wrong.
Shaq shot exactly. 487 one year and he shot worse than that in 4 seasons during his career.
His 3p shot was 31.1% on 3.6 attempts per game, pretty good when thinking how bad he was in college. He is close to 34% that is considered a solid percentage for an impactful POA wing defender.

19/39 FTs in the season.
He is a low usage wing player so his low FT's percentage is not a big deal compared to Cs who usually have to finish around the rim with traffic or perimeter players with high usage.
Obviously he needs to improve there, but it's not a big red flag at all.

How can anyone, after everything we've witnessed thi past 2-3 years, say Beal and Bud are our main problems? Is it coping mechanism, willful blindness or something entirely else? There may be numerous ways to handle and solve your problems, but lying to yourself about them sure isn't one of them.

He also shot a poor percentage in college so that's not very promising.
If you just look at him shoot free throws his touch is just wildly inconsistent I have little faith he will become a very good FT shooter, if he can become just a below average FS shooter I'll consider it a win.

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 1
After Luka ate Book’s lunch and dinner in game 7 in ‘22, it has seriously been all downhill. Even getting KD was anticlimactic after he slipped before his debut and didn’t get a chance to build any kind of cohesion before the ‘23 playoffs and the Nuggets blew them out of game 6 in round two. The lack of heart from this group has been woefully obvious.
At this point, you have to blow it up. Trying to reload and get better around Booker and Beal will be impossible. We are stuck with this team for another year. Durant is going to screw them because they hurt his little baby feelings at the trade deadline. Might as well just hold onto him until the trade deadline next season and hope someone is really desperate for a stoner who is also a bucket.

The Suns were too busy chasing Butler to see that the team was going nowhere and yes, should have traded Durant at the deadline
Gambo is quoted that Beal will not be back -- so what stupid thing is Ishbia going to do. Hopefully he just buys him out and move on as that to me is the option that will hurt the least
Booker - he needs to go to a new team. I don't care if he loves Phoenix - I think he is "comfortable" in Phoenix and that might not be conducive to winning
Book and KD are empty stats -- and this is a pattern with Durant.

I can see Dudley or Jack, only because it seems they are focusing on new and not retread.

I will be interested in the team they put around the coach
Just waiting for the Gambo and Flex tweets about how this front office is playing 3D chess signing players to the vet mininum!

I listened to the beginning of the latest Zach Lowe podcast where he and Simmons talked about the Suns
and it really is a dismal state the organization is in
I get it - the 2021 finals run was helped by factors in the west, players hurt, etc - -but stil, made it to the finals. But since than, its been all downhill and most of it by Ishbia.
The Wizards should have been giving the Suns pick swaps to take Beal and they gave them.. unbelievable trade. And it showed no insight into the salary cap
Dismal years ahead -

Thanks for telling us. Did they mention how many coaches we have had and how we are dysfunctional? Crazy, nobody here is already doing that, I should go get that on the main board because its probably info that I hadn't heard before.

There have been plenty of rumors about how Chris Paul wants to become a coach. Would be NUTS if we do something like that!! Talk about a person not relating and bumping heads with his players!! "Everybody hates Chris" is not just a tv show, its how a ton of current and former players feel about him!

What a nightmare season. We saw, we suffered, now we wash off the stink and start afresh.
These guys absolutely must go
James Jones
Bud (already gone)
Beal
D Lee

Beal to me only needs to be off the roster if it makes sense. I don't think a trade is viable and neither is the stretch. So buyout is fine. Trading Beal probably makes the team WORSE, not better in the long term

And that’s the real reason Booker wants to stay in Phoenix. He can get the most $$ here.

Dunn was a terrible shooter in the college too. His mechanics need a ton of work there. And sure Shaq had 3 seasons where he shot a worse FT% than Dunn…that’s not a flex.
If he doesn’t improve his shooting ability, Dunn will be just another Andre Roberson/Mattise Thybulle type player.

Thats always been my theory. He is $55m now - what will he care how the team does making $70m per year.
This is just the downfall of the team - right here.
