I want both because I believe both players can complement each other (and Tatum) so well.

We're not going to be able to afford both of them, once Scheierman is due for his contract extension.

And there won't be enough mins for 2 backup wing shooters on the same team, on a team who's 2 best players are wings (the Jays)..

Eventually, we may have to move 1 of them..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I would move Walsh before Scheierman or Hauser. Hauser can play the 2 or 3. Scheierman can play the 1, 2 or 3. Both can shoot better much than Walsh.

I think Sam's contract is low enough that he's likely to be spared as a cost-cutting move. And Scheierman is the three years after this on a rookie deal. By the time Scheierman needs an extension if he's gonna be so expensive that we can't keep him that probably means he developed into a Derrick White, Austin Reaves type of high-end starting guard -- and that'd be great news!

Scheirman's contract extension wouldn't start until his rookie deal is done. First year of hos next deal will be the 2028-29 season. As of right now, we only have Tatum/Brown/White/Hauser under contract (and it's a player option for White so he might not be part of that). Hauser/White would both be in the last years of their deals too.

We'll see what kind of players all of those guys are in 2028, but on the surface, doesn't seem to be too many immediate concerns with paying both of them because by the time Scheierman's deal kicks in Pritchard and Holiday will be gone so money and minutes on the perimeter will be there for the taking.

You know what? That Scheierman Porzingis hot potato inbound might be my favorite play of the season. Porzingis called an audible and Scheierman delivered.

Walsh probably has no value around the league and he makes less than what a vet minimum deal would cost. The discussion of Hauser or Scheierman is on the basis that both have value on the court but somewhat duplicative if we keep everyone else, so argument is to make a trade to either save money or reallocate that value to another position. Subbing in a fringe NBA player like Walsh to the discussion doesn't work because, in relative terms, he's nothing.

Baylor extension is a couple years away. If plays good enough to merit an extension and that we can trade Hauser I’d be thrilled.

Brad will nail 5-6 draft picks by then as well so both Hauser and Baylor will be fringe rotation guys.

Huge year coming up for Baylor, an age 25 season as well. I love Scheierman's toughness and feel for the game, but man the dude has some bad shot selection. When I was watching Scheierman in summer league after a couple of heaves, I was like, "What kind of shot is that??!" lol ...

Still, Im hoping Baylor makes it as a winning, starter-level player in this league of ours.

I had a similar reaction to his shot selection. That said, I like his cocky confidence, and he does play hard. I was just thinking about the fight ahead for minutes between Scheierman, Walsh, Gonzalez, and Minott, and who will end making the best of the opportunity. If Scheierman's shot is on, he will have an edge. That said, I like what I saw from Walsh during Summer League, and am a bit mystified to see people suggesting that they would be OK with cutting him loose. Like they've seen enough, and have no confidence that Walsh deserves to be on the court. In my view, he played with a lot of energy, at both ends of the court. His shooting was better, and he seemed more confident. He will give Scheierman a run for his money, I think. Gonzalez is only 19, but looks like he's ready now. Don't know much about Minott, but I'm sure he smells an opportunity, and will be fighting hard to make his claim for minutes.

Mynot is more PF.

So it's between Baylor, Hugo, and Walsh.

I'm putting Walsh's lane to play at PF. It's Minott, Tillman, and Walsh to play 12-16mpg backup PF IMO.

Baylor's ability as a connector and his toughness I think gets him in the rotation. I'm not a fan of his shot, but they mentioned he was reworking it. Definitely like his mental processing. He certainly needs to play in better control at times. But I have fun watching Scheierman. We'll see how the shot comes along.

Yeah, it would not be a bad thing if Walsh gets some minutes at PF.

Baylor will be fine.

I wanted Flip with the #30 pick, but Baylor was a good pick at #30 and I think he's a very smart basketball player.

6th - Simons
7th - Sam
8th - Baylor, Hugo, or Walsh
9th - Mynot, Tillman, or Walsh
10th - Garza

I will be surprised if Joe does not go with a 10-man rotation this season.
