I dont think anybody mentioned him as lottery pick at all...highest projection #15, but mostly late first rounder or early 2nd rounder.

I do. But it would be for defense and glue. If we want to maximize Giddey we need guys who are high IQ and can move the ball. CMB is that.
We are not - should not anyway - be looking for iso ball stopping types.
We have zero ball stoppers. Zero. And still score like crazy. Think about that. Let’s keep it that way. Let’s do this differently while we hope and wait for a franchise mega star.

Hey maybe I'm wrong, but I thought CMB was a below average 3pt shooter. I'm fine with 3-D guys, but don't want to draft another Terry or Phillips type player...we have enough of that.

Fair enough, but I'm saying that Lonzo without a 3 ball isn't someone I'd want.

You dont see the appeal of a Draymond Green type or maybe more realistically a Onyeka Okongwu (6'8", 235lbs) type player who right now is averaging 13.8/9/2.3 and closed out the year averaging 19.4/12/2.6. CMB would be a lock in the top 10 if he was 2" taller.

Terry and Phillips can’t shoot 3s AND can’t do anything else. CMB does EVERYTHING except shoot 3s - for now.
Frankly I’m exhausted with the argument that everyone has to be able to shoot 3s. First, it’s not true. Second, the 3 ball can be taught up to adequate levels most of the time anyway.
Hopefully all the GMs in front of us think like you on this issue. It’s how we got Matas.

I am of the opinion that the only position where your starter can get away with being a non-3pt shooter is C. But I think Okongwu is too small to be a non-3pt shooting C, and that causes ATL problems. I will say that I feel like every player in this draft has major flaws after Flagg.

Onyeka Okongwu has a +3.2 on/off number for Atl his last 4 seasons. Not amazing but he is a positive player for them and only 24 years old.

What are you seeing?
Where does he play and fit for us?

I respect your opinion, but just have different preferences. Back on CMB, the positive that would say with him is that if we drafted him, it would at least be because the FO saw him as the BPA instead of for need. Back when we had a shot at a top 10 pick, I would have called drafting Maluach or Queen drafting for need, but at (optimistically 15), they might be BPA's at that range.
