Talk your sh*t.

Because the mods have a hard thankless job that pays nothing, and I'm not going to change any minds anyway. Horrible people don't just happen. They spend a lifetime getting that way. It generally starts with the way they were raised. That's why a part of society wants to defund PBS. Sesame Street teaches children to be kind and empathetic and to share ... and other communist **** they don't want their kids being infected with. There are 40 and 50 year olds who have spent 40 to 50 years developing contempt for people who don't harm them or anyone. I can't undo that with a post on this board.

I hear you. For me, I personally don't care to change anyone's position. As you said, horrible people don't just happen. For many of them, their whole world and self image depends on treating others they view as inferior poorly and finding ways to impede them to keep that self image in tact. I mean, these are folks who will tell you that 1 decade of DEI is unfair but 50 decades of slavery, Jim Crow, and colonialism has no impact today and needs to be moved past  .

So at the end of the day, it's just discussion about current events/interesting conversation to me, because there's no reasoning with that type of mindset. But I also think its important to not let them lie to themselves and the rest of us unimpeded by facts about the real reason they have the positions they do. They want to pretend it's about the price of eggs and the economy so they don't have to confront themselves...nope lol. The facts should be put in their face about how they said it was about America first but an illegal SA immigrant is pulling major strings in the government. About how it's about the economy yet every effort is being made to put as many people out of jobs as possible and thrust us into a recession.

Could just as easily strawman all lefty/liberal positions and motivations. Choose not to do so because what is the point besides patting yourself on the back? You can’t tell someone what they’re really thinking and base it on cherry picked events and outcomes without opening yourself up to the same criticisms and then it just becomes people talking past each other.

Sorry but I see zero good faith here.

Heat analogy to keep it non political, if someone says they support Erik Spoelstra because they believe in his coaching, it would be ignorant at best and disingenuous and combative at worst to claim they’re a liar that secretly hates the team because of your own interpretation that Spoelstra is the cause of them losing. If you wanted to have a real conversation, you’d discuss Spoelstra’s coaching, and allow the other person their interpretations, and if you can’t find any common ground sometimes it’s ok and preferable to just agree to disagree. But we have Heat fans with player/coach agendas who snipe at each other over that as well, so I guess its natural it would be 10 times worse when discussing real world issues that directly affect our lives.

They sound angry! I really hope they work through the delusion that is making them so upset. I truly mean that...
Sound dumb? Well it sure sounded dumb when I heard that . These guys try and disguise their crying by talking down to anyone who has common sense. But you know what's actually horrible?

Calling people that disagree with you horrible while misrepresenting what they actually stand for. To go along with a self-righteous and arrogant attitude but thinking it's somehow subtle.

Accusing mods of trying to silence you when there is a whole board that's 95% populated by far left lunatics and dedicated to this stuff right here on this site. And then proceeding to completely ignore them while pretending to care about their hard and thankless job!

Pretending like the left leaning mainstream media is unbiased and actually capable of credible journalism. And then even going so far as to claim that the media is feeding the right nonsense!

Editing a presidential candidate's interview to sound somewhat competent to deceive voters.

Men dominating women's sports, putting their safety at risk and changing with them in the locker rooms.

Children thinking they need to mutilate their privates. And that parents shouldn't have a say.

Terrorists and criminals being allowed in the country along with deadly drugs. And letting in unvetted immigrants by the millions in order to try and sway an election.

Not being able to clap for a kid with cancer.

Cancel culture, censorship, and the death of freedom of speech.

Propping up a walking corpse to run the nation.

Defunding the police.

Wasting the hardworking citizens tax dollars by the billions. Not to mention the incessant fraud.

Thinking a primary doesn't matter.

Pardoning killers and rapists.

Weaponizing the justice system against a political opponent.

Putting underqualified people in important positions because they check a certain ethnic/gender/sexual orientation box. It's all about optics not public safety and merit. Hey we can claim to be better people by doing this though!

Hating a man so much you call him Hitler and want to see the country fail rather than see him succeed. And rooting for an assassin to take him out.

And it goes on and on and on...but whatever. It's just hilarious how they throw stones from glass houses. It's important not to let them lie to themselves unimpeded by facts . Talk your holier than thou shyt I guess, just know it's not fooling anyone...Enjoy the next 4 years. I certainly will!

I never really cared about politics myself, never sided with a party until recently. Common sense has just been LEFT behind and I'm tired of it. I don't hate anyone here either, I just think it's insane how a few people here are pretending to be morally superior while also at the same time telling others what they think haha. I just wanted to point out that can go both ways. I've tried to leave it alone twice now but they just keep going so I figured it was warranted to point out the hypocrisy. And I totally agree on Spo !

I stay out of talking politics online because people are not going online to have discussions but to debate. Social media for years have been weaponized by propaganda firms and organizations (since the 90s). I see you basically bullet points your beliefs. Would you mind if I ask you some questions about a point or two that you have listed? I do not want you to be in defensive mode but I know its natural for one to be so. So I am asking your permission.

I mean ask whatever you want but my intent isn't to engage in any further debates as it's clear nobody is capable of changing anyone else's mind. Or admittedly even wants to. The purpose of those bullet points was to merely demonstrate to a few here what it's like to be characterized in sweeping generalizations and deemed horrible people from a high horse. If I wanted to debate a bunch of lefties I'd go to the appropriate forum just a few clicks away. But since some insist on subjecting us all to that stuff here, I just wanted to point out that there is plenty to criticize on both sides and it's not a one way street where they can act like they are the good guys.

Lol oh gosh. How many times are y'all going to do that "I could make a factual point if I wanted to" thing while not doing it? Literally no one is stopping you from actually making a point.

Fun fact, I don't consider myself lefty or liberal or whatever. Closer to it than the steaming pot of poison on the right? Absolutely. But there's plenty of things Democrats do that I disagree with too. It just so happens that the things "the left" do, even the ones I disagree with, at least aren't actively trying to harm others.

I honestly think its interesting that you choose to compare it to sports. I have a theory its that type of thinking that is exactly why a lot of Americans are politics-sick right now. They will support anything as long as its their "team" saying it. Down to creeping towards allying with a sworn American enemy in Russia.

I don't find your example about Spo to make any sense, but I'll play. If Spo is the coach and the Heat are losing while he also trips our players on the way to the basket, and openly tells the other team's coach our plays and you still support him and say you're a Heat fan...yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say you're lying lmao and not feel bad about it.

I find it insulting that I get accused of not caring about poor people when I am the only f-er on here slamming tax money going to fund sports team indulgence and I just see the Celtics sold for over $6 billion.

^If the sale goes through, it's a 1700% return (purchased 2002 for $360 mil). Clippers went for $2 bil over a decade ago....the value of these franchises just keep going up.

Now we just need some young or middle-aged investor to entice Micky to sell...someone who's willing to spend to disallow this team from rolling around in the muck.

The Clippers, one of the worst franchises of all time selling for $2 billion. Unbelievable. Defund tax money going to sports teams now. That includes tax incentives!

Not everything is wholly bad or wholly bad or wholly good. You can argue tariffs on some stuff but not everything. Ain't nobody out here trying to work at a sweatshop so walmart sneakers can be 30 bucks.

Judge scraps US rule capping credit card late fees at $8

(Reuters) -A federal judge on Tuesday threw out a U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule capping credit card late fees at $8, after the agency agreed with opponents that the rule adopted during President Joe Biden's administration was illegal.

U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman in Fort Worth, Texas granted a joint request by the CFPB and a coalition of six business and banking groups including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and American Bankers Association to scrap the rule.

Pittman, an appointee of President Donald Trump, agreed with both sides that the rule violated the Credit Card Accountability and Disclosure Act of 2009 because it prohibited card issuers from charging fees "reasonable and proportional to violations."

The rule capped late fees for issuers with more than 1 million open accounts unless they could prove higher fees were necessary to cover their costs.

It had been part of Biden's crackdown on "junk fees," and was intended to reduce the typical late fee from about $32.

The Trump administration is reversing many Biden-era rules and policies that it considers unfriendly to business.

Whew, thank goodness. I was afraid for a second that anybody besides consumers would be held accountable for anything. Super, duper necessary stuff like this plus the tariffs should surely bring down those egg prices or whatever. Thanks Mr. President!

US norms slowly being eroded away.
Trump openly defying SCOTUS ruling to fly an innocent legal immigrant who was wrongly sent to an El Salvador prison for gangs.
And now wants to deport US citizens which is illegal

Forget the tarriffs which are dumb. This is the stuff people should be concerned about. If he can defy SCOTUS would he try to run for a 3rd term which he has hinted he would try. Would he declare martial law to prevent an election from happening.

If he goes and deports US citizen to an El Salvador prison there should be an outrage on all sides. If there isn't then Trump will know he can do anything and get away with it.

And Trump is an ahole for the immigrant case. Your team made a mistake, just bring the dude back. Its a lack of any humanity to leave an innocent man in a prison with violent gang members. And whats worse are his so Christian supporters who sit back and say nothing.

US norms slowly being eroded away.
Trump openly defying SCOTUS ruling to fly an innocent legal immigrant who was wrongly sent to an El Salvador prison for gangs.
And now wants to deport US citizens which is illegal

Sadly, what can you do when a large contingent of the country would be fine seeing their own rights eroded and their own future destroyed just to hurt others they don't like? A lot of whom they can't even articulate why they don't like them, they just been brainwashed to see them as the enemy. This type of vile action from Trump is legit what they want. So nothing will change.

I mean for all the crazy **** I expected from a second term, this "we are discussing sending US citizens to prisons overseas" stuff is beyond any crazy I anticipated. They would cosign human trafficking by the government all to "own the libs". What's to be done with that type of mindset?
