They do this in politics and with our movies, music and food. They want to see how much people are willing to take it up the !@##@ before we decide to hurt their pockets and find other options. He can call fans idiots for not being as smart as he is and people will still buy tickets.

I suspect it wont hinder the nba at all. The league doesnt cater to die hards, it caters to casuals and the lakers having a star player they got for pennies on the dollar is a great way to attract casuals

Lakers sucked for years before LBJ showed up the NBA was still fine.. This is nothing to do with the commissioner as nico first call was to get Edwards not AD.. Had wolves said yes then Luka would be playing for the Wolves and Edward for dallas.. This is all Nico..

It’ll look different if they are able to add Durant next.

If you believe the rumors, Luka got shopped for Giannis and Ant - both teams turned it down. I know Luka is very popular with fans for his offensive skills, but teams know he's a defensive liability. Imagine Luka getting offered for Tatum - the C's would just laugh as they just exposed his defense badly.

I expect that the Lakers would find a way to win a chip in the next 10 years, with or without Luka. Players go to LAL, they don't go to DAL. The roster they will be able to put together in LAL will be different than what they were going to be able to put together in DAL.

Anytime somebody trades a top notch talent on their team and they win elsewhere, there will be regrets. It basically says they failed at building a team around him and developing chemistry. The team basically went from a yearly championship contender to barely being a play-in team in one move. People can say whatever they want, of course there will be regrets if he wins in LA, especially if it happens this year.
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:

1) If it happens this year I'll buy you a pizza!
2) They were not yearly contenders. They have had home court in one (1) series. That was the 4-5 matchup vs. the Jazz in the 2022 in the playoffs. The best you can say is that (when they aren't tanking for Livley) they are often a "dark horse" pick. But that is not on their roster but on Luka's brilliance alone.
3) Last season DAL was a surprise team in the Finals where they got roasted. They had no shot.
4) Nico and the DAL brass clearly don't think they would be able to put together a roster around Luka. As I said before, players don't go to DAL and they were running out of assets to trade. So in the next few years, when a couple of superstars force their way to LAL, Nico will know that he would never had the chance to bring those guys to DAL. So yeah, Nico might regret that he couldn't have done it with Luka in DAL, but he'll also know that it is very unlikely that he could have done it with Luka in DAL. I mean, I'm sure NOP fans lost their minds when AD won in LAL... but Lebron wasn't going to NOP, so there really isn't anything to fuss over. Whoever wins it with Luka was never going to DAL.
