Jordan Goodwin has become an invaluable rotation player for the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately, unless they make a roster move, Goodwin will be unavailable to play for the Lakers for the rest of the season.

This is because the combo guard has used up all of his available NBA eligibility on his two-way contract. Two-way players are limited to 50 NBA games on the active list, or a prorated amount. Goodwin had a prorated amount of 19 games and has used all of them.

The Lakers can still make Goodwin available for the postseason (playoffs or Play-In Tournament) by converting or signing him to a standard contract. That would mean Los Angeles waiving a player, as they currently have all 15 standard spots filled.

Two-Way players are not eligible to play in the postseason, playoffs or Play-In Tournament, even if they have NBA eligibility left while on their two-way deals. As we are past the March 4 deadline for signing a player to a two-way deal, a team is unable to replace that spot if they convert/sign a two-way player.

Good for him...

The Lakers are waiving Cam Reddish to create roster space for Jordan Goodwin, sources said.

:) Gotta be one of my favorite stories of the year!

As to Cam Reddish, it's sad to see a guy waste his talent.

That said, Reddish made almost $25m in the NBA. If he had/has good advisers, he's going to be very rich his whole life.

Lots of Nuggets fans are celebrating his departure. I wouldn't blame him though- might be because the ownership is cheap plus Murray has been injured quite a bit. I was getting Dan Snyder firing Norv Turner vibes by them clearing out the coach and the gm.

Maybe if Westbrook comes through, Malone/Booth would still be around.

Hall-of-Fame center Dwight Howard will play his final season of pro basketball for TheBig3 on Los Angeles Riot squad under head coach Nick Young.

I wonder whether there's a place for Calvin booth in our front office. Of course, he's going to have a slew of offers to choose from! Guy's been an extremely effective GM.

from what i've read, most, if not all of the credit for the Nuggets success was because of other former Wizard FO man Tim Connelly (whose brother is still in Wizard's player development apparently) and the friction between ownership and Booth/Malone is that they couldn't play nice together with Booth wanting Malone to play rookies and Malone sticking with vets (Westbrook).

Although with that in mind, Booth being more about player-development and our roster as constructed, it seems to be a good match.
