Yep the pressure is on and not just for thibs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But everybody on the roster excluding Jb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are indeed due for an easy first round win. But honestly, I can't prematurely blame Thibs for this one. It's a tough match up and bad timing.

A Knicks in Six won't be a bad result here.

this is a good, tough team deserving of respect. they should remind us of ourselves a little while ago.

i think we are good enough to dominate the series, and that's what i hope for. but i won't be shocked if it's bloody.

I just really don't like Wally's take. "anything less than domination in round 1 signals issues inside the Knicks locker room" / lack of confidence. Pistons are only 7 games behind the Knicks. And Knicks are only 1-3 against them in the regular season.

Wally's talking like we are the Cavs or Celtics.

Mitch will go down in game 3 when we're down 0-2 and losing by 30 and dudes will be like "we lost cause we didn't have Mitch, if we were healthy we'd've beaten them"

VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday

yeah, that's just not enough respect for the opp. but wally is kinda like that.

you think haliburton didn't remember wally last playoffs? he was wild disrespectful.

that said, i genuinely believe we're better than them. not a slight. they're an upstart and will make it nasty for whoever. i respect that ****. but we gotta handle biz.

the thibs/JVG parallels are ham. biggest difference being JVG didn't have to work with a rebuilding group. but the complaints, commentary, it feels so similar.

and plenty of those parallels include very valid and understandable criticisms. (mainly pertaining to offensive creativity and primary attack philosophy.)

there's no way. his schtick of late on twitter has been to call himself "#ThibsJr" and blunt force his way into the replies of the beat. he wouldn't be critical of this year's team on here

Our bench was a weak spot going into the season. Injuries compounded the weak bench.

we dealt depth. and i get the argument about developing the bench more with PT. but that also negates what kind of preparation is happening off the court that we don't see.

shamet just wasn't healthy. we're getting a taste of what he's really about and has done.

kolek is a good example of that notion. mans was a disaster on defense in those first minutes he got. by the time he got back on the floor a bit late in the season, we saw he was handling the rotations and point of attack a LOT better. still not great, but it was abysmal to start. and i was concerned about that in college. (this is coming from someone who LOVES kolek, spent hours watching him in Marquette hoping we would draft him, still see him as a perfect backup PG for brunson going forward, and scared my neighbors with how loud i yelled when we got him in the second round.)

Yeah yeah yeah you can blame it on injuries or call me names (actually that one is funny) but KAT was not effective late in the season.

Mitch doesn't resemble the player we had hopes for.

Brunson did have a little less effective season too.

And Bridges has not been what we expected.

It's not over till it's over, so you guys can rightfully disagree with me. But I don't agree that fans or the team should be waiting around to suddenly "click." That's my main point. It's foolish and not backed up by facts.

We are clearly better than the damn Pistons and I still got Pistons in 7. That's how little faith I have in Thibs as a playoff caliber coach.

Also:

You all using their record to bump things up ... that's wrong too IMO.

The league has so many bad teams and competition is watered down. The record is really not all that significant.

We'll see. If they click and dominate, I'd be delighted. Could care less about being wrong.

Don’t the Pistons have the better offense defense point differential? Considering both teams basically have the same regular season schedule, isn’t that enough proof the Pistons should be favored? (Besides them possessing the mighty Tobias Harris)

the context matters. i don't believe the knicks CAN'T beat the good teams. they just... didn't.

also, some of the teams were hot and getting slobbed down by the media when we beat them... but at the end of the year get looked at like scrubs in hindsight. (cough memphis cough)

as the great MC roy jones jr. once said, "and they got the nerve to say i ain't fight nobody. i just make 'em LOOK LIKE nobody."
