Pritchard bailing on the 741s after seeing JB hobbling around out there the last few games?

Pritchard is great, but I am with Simmons in thinking that Beasley deserves 6MOY more. His rationale is that Detroit "needs" Beasley to be good more than we need Pritchard. Kinda get that.

I wanna go on record, and say that I believe that we should have an "All 6th-Man" 1st, 2nd & maybe 3rd Team.
Kinda like All-Defensive Team. Not really concerned about an All-Defensive Player of the year, nor a 6th-Man of the Year.

IMO, when those Awards first started, there might have been only one qualified Player. No longer.
Quite a few Teams have a 6th-Man. Some, have more than one, so to speak. This Award needs to be expanded.

Also, All-Defensive Team should be expanded to 3 Teams, from the current 2.

Nothing is given."

Is 6th moty a lock for PP?

Beasley is having his best season and the Pistons are playing very well.

Not blaming PP for the loss the other night, but even Scal said he should be dominating that game. Yes he distributed the ball very well, but in that spot start he should have been more aggressive IMO.

I'm harsh on PP, but I just don't trust him on the big stage. :dontknow:

What, the game vs Orlando?

We were resting all of our guys. We already have the 2 seed locked up. Orlando has guys out as well.

It was like the 3rd to last reg season game. It was about as meaningless of a game as you'll find - far from "the big stage"

Mazzulla said the team arrived at the airport at 4:30am too..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Celtics lack of other award candidates (other than JT 4th in MVP and All NBA) will help Pritchard get these 6MOY votes. The narrative’s been entrenched most of the season. People will vote Cade for All NBA and also MIP, so the Pistons’ rise will be “covered”.

I mean, I think Beasley's a close second, but Pritchard’s done what he needs to down the stretch by keeping his PPG up.

Per Dick Lipe, no Celtics bench player has had more 20-pt games in a season than Pritchard (23x) besides Kevin McHale (37x).

Fun Fact: The Celtics made the conference finals each time a Celtics player won the 6th Man award -- 1984, 1985, 1986, 2023.

I won’t be shocked if Beasley gets it. Pistons won 30 more games than last season which he played a big part in and 300+ 3’s made? Didn’t miss a game also.

Regular season PP is GOATED AFAIC. But show me now!!! I don't expect his offense to be as Huge since he won't be asked as much. But He will be measured by how much his defense holds up. They can and will "pick on him" but He needs to hold up. Against most teams he can..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I want to see the offense too, though. He still hasn't completely shed the "he can get smothered by intense D" thing, imo. He's been much better, obviously, in reg season. But, there were still games where he kinda got shut down. But, so does everyone.

I need to see him go off for at least 2-3 3s in at least a few games each round.

Document updated. Last four public votes (including Bill Simmons) went to Malik Beasley. PP still in the lead but Beasley has closed the gap and still over 50 voters not yet public... still like Payton's chances but it's closer now
