Moody is a 10-12th man which is why he never got minutes consistently. He isnt good now either.. Keep in mind GP2 and Hield also dropped 20 vs that awful defense.

Right now they dont have a better option until Kuminga and to a lesser degree, Podz returns and he fits well with Jimmy defensively, but to get useful playoff minutes he'll need to learn to defend the post on switches.

I can't tell if this is a serious post or not.

He gets it up there nice and soft on the rim, but eventually the league is going to adjust.

Both he and Kuminga could use training at the Jimmy Butler/D-Wade school of rapid-fire pump-fakes.

I agree on the pull-up, especially when attacking the close out. Gives the help defender something else to account for, instead of just camping in the paint and contesting the layup.

That's what Mikal Bridges does, the midrange pull-ups, taking advantage of his length, because he's not strong enough to finish through contact.

Finally no CP3, no Schroeder mess up backcourt rotation.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

I love Moses living up to his potential. Looks like a lock as a starter for us for a number of years, so happy for him!

I love Moody, but I’m not sure he needs to be a “starter”. He’s a good ball player who should be playing lots. Role isn’t that important. But he’s not the guy to freeze out the way Kerr did. It was stupid.

Hmm I don't see why he wouldn't keep starting. He's been a perfect fit with Jimmy! I don't know who we'd play in his place that would do a better job, it would have to be someone who can shoot the 3 and guard on the perimeter.

And his ability to get extra possessions via steals and diving for loose balls is much needed.

I agree. He certainly should start now. I was just pondering the long term, future years.

We don't make the playoffs without him. What kinda brain dead-ass takes are these.

Teams are not giving him open looks any more. Instead they will leave Dray and Butler wide open from 3.

Next stage of development is attacking close outs, either going to the rim or pulling up midrange or floaters.

He’s not good at finishing versus contest or through contact. May need to get stronger.

Or look to get into the paint against aggressive closeout and kick out to another open player.

He’s been more effectively using those long arms, poking the ball out, as well as get far more reps against the primary ball handlers on opposing teams.

Probably drilled to attack the dribble, at least make ball handlers be wary about his arms/hands.

It would be huge if he made a leap like Dyson Daniels did this season as POA defender.

That dunk on Reaves which was overturned is a good sign. Needs to get aggressive about attacking close outs. He doesn’t have to try to dunk it but develop a little pull up midrange J or runners because teams are not leaving him open from 3 as much as earlier this season.

Again more upper body strength would be a boon because players always use a quick chicken wing to get separation for an uncontested short jumper. He was doing that in the preseason but not as much since.

Coaches should be drilling that into him to add to his bag and hit the weight room hard in the offseason.

Not just an NBA player anymore. A playoff starter.

He’s going to have to shoot better and do something when chased from the 3 point line. His POA defense has improved though.

In the past month, Moody has had 12 games with single digit scoring. Five of those 12 games were losses. He doesn't need 20+ per game (it would be great, but I think he is incapable of it on this team).

12-14 ppg from Moody would be helpful at this stage. He was doing that the first five weeks after the Butler trade. The last month his scoring has cratered. So has his +/-.

I love the hustle but he needs to be more aggressive (and well.. better) when it comes to shooting and scoring. He's had plenty chances to do so and has shied away from it the last few weeks.

Moody is expending so much effort on d. That's his role. He's out there to space the floor and play d. You fools better be ready to give Playoff Moody his flowers when he shows up.

I'm impressed with the way Moody's defense has come on. They were smart to extend him at that rate. IMO, he's going to be the biggest bargain in the league the next couple of years.

Right now he’s not a starter on a playoffs team, not getting a lot of minutes because of his limitations.

If JK was a bad pick, so was Moody.
