Booker too i imagine. With their lack of assets and Beals contract it is gonna be hard to retool around him.

we need to get in on that

Yeah I would love to see the Raptors make a move for him.

They're not moving Booker. He wants to be there and is extension eligible for a 2 year 150 million deal that I'm sure he is not turning down.

Imagine if we mortgaged out future for KD two seasons ago, as some posters wanted. This could have been us.

We will see if he still wants to be there if they blow things. And not sure why the Suns woulsnt want to move on. Beal is gonna handicap the team pretty badly, so i don't see how they retool even with the assets from a Durant trade (and any team making a move for Durant is likely giving up young players/picks, not pieces that will help short term).

It's not like Booker isn't aware of what's going on. Their owner has zero interest in a rebuild. Beal handicapping them by having no trade market also basically forces them to try to retool and compete rather than tearing it all down.

While the owner is committed to compete sure, but if the team decides to rebuild i don't know why he'd waste his time there.

Contending teams are being forced to find value around the margins because the new CBA is so restrictive. Suns won't be able to build any kind of contender for the 2 years they have Beal taking up $50+ million. They have no depth rightn now so even if they get back quality players from the Durant trade they are still far way.

Dead weight isn't the worst thing when your in a rebuild, you have a minimum spending anyway.

The owner wants to compete. Booker wants to stay there and is heavily incentivized to do so. Put those 2 desires together and a rebuild is basically off the table.

They're obviously in a terrible situation and not in a spot where it's likely they can build even a good team much less a contender, I'm not saying otherwise.

They thought Booker, Beal and Duarant with a bunch of scrubs would be a good basketball team lol. Those three are basically different versions of the same type of player.

Phoenix won 49 games last year... that's not a bad season. They panicked by firing Vogel.

After an "exhaustive" search the Suns are promoting from within for a new GM.

The Phoenix Suns are naming a new head of basketball operations, promoting vice president Brian Gregory to be the franchise's new general manager

Just a coincidence that
He was also an assistant coach at Michigan State under Tom Izzo from 1999-2003 - which overlapped with Ishbia's stint as a point guard on the national championship team in 2000.

Ishbia going to ishbia.

So Ishbia was a teammate of Raps legend MoPete on that Michigan State team back in the day? And he somehow became a billionaire.

It's fair to say that about the Suns, and I kind of feel the same way with the Lakers Doncic and Bron. Why did they think that would work with such a small rotation. Obviously, LBJ is year to year at this point, but team's really need to focus on complimentary pieces not just talent for the sake of talent.
