The Cowboys traded one 5th round pick and got back Joe Milton and a 7th round pick.

The Cowboys had interest in him when he was coming out of Tennessee. He’s going to be nothing more than a backup QB in Dallas. He’s no threat to challenge Dak.

yeah I have mixed feelings.

I do think we need someone working in the background that *might* be special. Basically another Romo or Dak type who is low investment. We need a Purdy.

I don't think I like a backup who we already know can only be a backup.

But at the same time I am glad we don't have to spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a QB and can focus on someone who will play day 1 instead.

Cooper Rush showed you how important a backup is. I don’t mind spending a 5th on a guy who is a known backup. To me that’s better than spending a 5th on a guy we have no idea if he can play or not. I agree that this also means they won’t be spending a 2nd round pick on a QB.

I would expect the 1st 3 picks will be on skill position players that can start from day 1. If their first 3 picks are … Tet McMillan, Omarion Hampton, and Deone Walker I’d be a really happy man

Yes. The all time Cowboys OL in my opinion would be:

LT: Tyron Smith
LG: Larry Allen
C: Travis Fredrick
RG: Zack Martin
RT: Erik Williams

Bench: Mark Tuinei, Nate Newton, Mark Stepnoski, Kevin Gogan, Rayfield Wright

I have a feeling this is actually going to happen. If he’s willing to sign for $5M-$6M per season I think they will bring Cooper back. Personally I thought he was bum when they got rid him the first time.

Would be a good signing.

This seems like a typical Jerry type of move. He's talented. But also, a major headache. If he wasn't, then Pittsburgh wouldn't be willing to part with him.

Yea typical Jerry move but at least he’s trying. They’ve done a good job of plugging a lot of the holes they had this off season. As for Pickens, he does come with some warts that’s for sure. It in spite of that he is going to be a threat playing opposite CeeDee Lamb. I feel a whole lot better about the Cowboys WR room that’s for sure.

This, I am just happy we are managing to get some vet help in here.

3rd is good for Pickens. A 2nd would have been to much. I was fine with Dallas drafting WRs after round 2. Getting a vet talent for a 3rd is good value IMO.

But yeah, if Pickens was upset about DK coming in, then he probably is upset about being the #2 to CeeDee. Hopefully he gets over it and doesn't cause a big riff. And hopefully he knows that he is no CeeDee Lamb.

Hopefully, his agent has sold him on making this a contract-altering season and he buys into that line of thinking.

Absolutely! Dak is the best QB he’s ever played with. Cowboys also have other weapons to pull coverage away from Pickens. If he has a good-great season statistically he’ll be in line for the payday he wants. That likely won’t be from the Cowboys though. If that happens I’d like to see the Cowboys franchise him and trade him for a 1st or 2nd.

Week 1…

@ Philly…

Making Jerry sit through a Super Bowl Banner raising ceremony is fine with me.

Tyler Booker kind of reminds me of Nate Newton. Never shy’s away from the mic and is pretty entertaining.
