Reflection 1: Matching up the team that shoots the most threes at percentage (Boston) against the team that holds teams from shooting threes the least at percentage (Orlando), this is the nightmare for Boston.
Reflection 2: that video reveals why teams are so bad at guarding the Celts. Coach Mosley would "murder" his roster if they played that sort of defense.
Orlando will play zone and switch and switch and switch. It is blatant stupidity to play Boston man-up.
Reflection 3: none of it will matter if the Magic cannot hit shots. Sure the Magic can hold the Celts to, let say, 5-points less than average based on defense. That won't be enough. Yes: Orlando holds teams to the lowest PPG. Well: Boston is #2 on holding teams to low PPG lines.
Reflection 4: Boston's defense will suffocate Orlando. It could get ugly.
I am basically comfortable in those thought lines.
...
Now my inner-Homerism. All Orlando needs is three dud games and four WHAT??? games from the guards. If Anthony and Black play against the Celts like they did in the playin game - only 4 times (dud games are fine), sprinkling in a "playoff Caldwell-Pope" game or two, to quote Jim Carrey, "
So you're telling me there's a chance."
The computers like Orlando to win this series at 8%. I think that is spot on. There is a chance. And it is tangible. I BELIEVE!
