We were never in this game. Really came out poorly. Defense atrocious. Offense nonexistent.
But the biggest disappointment was Coby White.
5-20 17pts 7 turnovers.
No one really had a good game, but they were basically themselves. Giddey wasn't great but he still had 25/10. The largest variance was Coby. And that was what was disappointing. He needs to do better.
Now that the season is over, its all on AK.
He needs to pick a rising star for this team. I give him credit for Matas. I love that kid. But we need more like Matas going forward.
So now AKME need to get off their butts and go to work.

Kyle Anderson: 22 minutes with ZERO points and the Heat still won by 19. I know he did other things (5 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal), but generally if a player is on the court that long you need them to at least score a little bit.

Re: PG: 1-2-3 Cancun
We have two players to build with. Buzelis and Giddey. The rest can go.
I don’t care if it makes us worse I never want to see Vuc play for this team again. Possibly the worst defender in Bulls history.
Coby is completely useless if he isn’t scoring at an elite level…bye.

Still reeling from trading away Jimmy Butler all those years ago. The last player who had the 'it' factor.

You can't build around Coby and Giddey. If you do, this is the outcome you're looking at year after year.
Giddey can be a key building block, but not on a max contract.

A little silver lining here…our chance for the number one pick is not zero now.

Why? We're paying Pat $90M to basically do that.

No one is giving Giddey a max. I think $30 million is where he where he settles which is fair for what will probably be an 18/8/8 guy.
Coby might be worth $20 million.

It was a miracle we won 39 games
We lack talent a lot.
The bench is awful
Need wholesale changes. I'd only keep Giddey for the right price. Vuc better not be here next season.

Matas has the "it" factor.

Re: PG: 1-2-3 Cancun
In one sense, you could say that we lost the game at the single position of SG. Herro had 38 points on 19 shots, while Coby had had 17 points on 20 shots with 7 TOs. That's more than the victory margin right there.
But in another sense, that's just not right. Coby faced tough, scrappy defense all night, while Herro waltzed into the middle of the lane, never to be challenged. The difference in team defenses was enormous. We got outworked, outthought, outmuscled, out everything. Across the board. I excuse Matas somewhat for his age, but the rest of them were pretty much all defensive failures.

Re: PG: 1-2-3 Cancun
The late season Bulls offense really relied on just outhustling other teams on fast breaks and scoring while they were a bit lazy in the late regular season while the Bulls were playing 100%. Problem is in an elimination play-in, you're not going to catch the other team just trotting back and shrugging off another Coby layup. Miami was back on every possession, outside of Giddey the Bulls had nothing against a team playing tough D.
Well it was an entertaining season start to finish, a lot of ups & downs and ultimately I had fun following them.
Bulls obviously need a defensive stopper at the rim (Miami was 27/28 on 2 pointers at halftime, all on layups), and could use a defender on the perimeter w/ Coby. We'll see if AK does anything in the offseason or runs it back again.

There's a reason why the Bulls only won 39 games and didn't make it to the playoffs.

This was like the 5th game I watched this season and it was absolutely awful. I turned it off at halftime. Where does this put us in the standings? Are we in 9th or 10th place? Mainly wondering where this place us in the draft lottery.

Re: PG: 1-2-3 Cancun
Will this be the game that finally gets Billy Donovan outta here? Heat came with defensive adjustments and a game plan and we looked like we would have in any regular season game. What exactly was our strategy here? Heat revved up and we did nothing to counter.
But I'm not upset because honestly losing does better for us right now.
