Oh I agree this deal doesn't make sense for Washington. I led with that myself. I just don't think the relative value of the picks is particularly relevant to the deal.

But there are lots of ways to take advantage of financial flexibility under each of the lines. I think you are being too quick to dismiss that. Its why we see teams dumping expiring contracts every summer even with no plan to use cap space. They use that spending power in other ways.

I’m still waiting on Dallas to use that Courtney Lee TPE…

Think Dallas throws in the distant Philly 2nd and everyone is happy. Maybe need the 2032 Dallas 2nd, but I don’t think so. Smart isn’t much of an asset on his own, think the 2nd(s) are owed because no one wants to pay Hardy 6 million in 2026-2027

If I am WAS and offered this package, I would rather hold on Smart, and try to rebuild his value, and sell him for better package later
