Don't think Lakers have any interest in Holiday with Doncic and Reaves already as the primary ball handlers (assuming LeBron retires, which I don't think is likely).

I still think Clippers are the best Jrue Holiday destination with Ballmer's deep pockets. Bogi/Eubanks/Kobe Brown/Jordan Miller for Holiday makes sense. Bogi has been a good scorer off the bench for them, but Holiday obviously an upgrade for free (in terms of assets) and Ballmer is always willing to spend.

Celtics can attach 2nd rounders to dump the useless trio of Eubanks/Brown/Miller on other teams for tax savings. Then they use Bogi's expiring contract to add a 1st rounder to and bring back a longer term piece they like on a multi year deal. As I broke down above, they can afford that while still ducking the luxury tax in 2026-27 and starting to reset their repeater rate status.

Christ, at these prices I'd love Utah to jump in for Jrue despite making the opposite of directional sense.

Maybe something around Sexton/protected 1st (or maybe one of the young guys) to Boston with KJ Martin/2nds eaten by a 3rd team.

Still have Collins/Clarkson and a ton of picks to go after another big name.

For him to sit half the season while UTA tanks and to be flipped a year later?

What you got against my guy Jrue?

Jrue's too good to tank. Back to the play-ins with Utah.

You might be able to chalk it up to role or coming off a championship and coasting, but he's had his worst season since probably his rookie year and going onto his 17th season. Not everyones Lebron. And while i think he might still have some value as a final piece for some teams, he's not moving the needle as a secondary option for UTA.

Lakers don't want Klay.

He makes them small and they have Knecht to develop up

Bring in another team to eat Klay and/or the salary filler LA needs to send out to take him on. C's take some swings with vet minimum FA's and rookies to try and bring in cheap depth.

I also like Jrue for the Lakers but don't have any interest in Vando or Vincent coming back as filler.

Maybe the deal could be simplified to Jrue to Dallas, Gafford to Boston, Klay/28 to Detroit? Detroit started THJ this year and Klay is still better than him. Plus they pick up another little sweetener. Or maybe Brooklyn takes Klay to get the pick?

Boston saves a bunch more money and gets needed center depth. Dallas gets Jrue. And since most seem to think Dallas got too good a deal it addresss that value issue as well.

Yeah I'd co-sign that. If Horford retires and the C's can dump Tillman's dead weight contract replacing their roster slots with vet min FA's and rookies they'd have gone a long way towards rehsaping their books into something viable going forward.

Nico could keep pumping out his "defense wins championships" line by shipping out Klay and bringing in Jrue. And with the Pistons on the come-up, it's not like Klay is getting sent to Siberia either, which I know wouldn't be a deal-breaker but is still a nice cherry on top given he was the marquee FA signing last summer.

I actually don't like the deal for Dallas given Jrue's contract but I also think Nico is going to take some swings and Jrue at this price is a solid option for someone who likely is thinking short-term rather than long-term.
