The only upset I can agree with is GSW over Houston.

The intrigue of NY vs Boston is too great for Silver to negate, so along the way calls will go against Detroit.

In part because of their over-exuberance but also they're not going to bring in the revenue.

I saw them play that sht way, with Schroder standing over JB and Cade's lob at the buzzard. Therefore, I don't respect their leadership.

Last year physicality was heavily in our favor because we had guys like Randle and iHart who weren’t afraid of throwing their weight around

This year more physicality benefits the other team because in most matchups we have the softer players and more easily rattled players

Physicality bothers Brunson a lot as well and the more physical they allow his defender to be can heavily impact his game

i pretty much agree with all that. we had the metal bats out early and often last season. it was maybe my favorite part of our identity. (which is why i am a thibsian maniac.)

i think i get where you're coming from with the bold but don't know how much i agree. it always looked to me that contact is an important and expected part of Brunson's game. i think he gets bothered by the lack of calls when he's getting his braids smacked around in the paint. but he's kind of a bully ball PG. he's got a post big's footwork and use of physicality.

Yah, I also disagree. I feel like people haven't watched Brunson for the first few seasons on the Knicks, when they keep saying this stuff. Like...are we seriously thinking that teams wouldn't have played Brunson physical if that was his weakness? It took the whole league 3 years on the Knicks before they figured it out? Or maybe his 32 ppg in the playoffs last year was cause teams were locking him down and he should have had 40?

Brunson has been getting played physical his whole career and he's never let it stop him. It's KAT I'm more worried about. Brunson is cold-blooded.

Whether he gets calls or not, nobody initiates contact more than Brunson. His game is built off it. He's a bully baller in a PG's body.

I mean the issues for JB is that Pistons can play him physical and with size AND athleticism.

Yea, I'm sorry but this is seriously nothing unique. This is basically the playbook against any superstar in this league, and this is something that has been going on forever.

Sorry, but I think that people are trying to make up this narrative about Brunson. He thrives in these conditions; he does it in the playoffs year after year and against much better teams than the Pistons, and he's done it with less offensive help before, too. If we fail, it's probably going to be a lot more likely that it's Mikal or KAT that doesn't show up.

If the only way we can win games in the playoffs is by getting bailed out by a hot hand we won't go far enough to save Thibs' job.

Even if we win vs. DET handily, if Boston embarrasses us Thibs is definitely gone. We should be able to be competitive with Boston. Anything less probably won't satisfy the FO

In a way, it is good we would face Boston in the 2nd round. It is a true test earlier than later in the playoffs about the state of the team. Thibs won't have the luxury of having two easier series before meeting a top level team.
