SAC should look for other trade partners.

I think it would have to be Clingan & 9 from Portland. Portland may not do it, but it should be considered.

I am not moving 2 of Sharpe / Clingan / 9 for Sabonis.

Ayton + Murray + 10 is the highest PDX should offer IMO.

Portland isnt a Sabonis away from contending. He is the 3rd best player on a good team IMO. If the cost is low enough you do it and hope the across-the-board talent of Scoot / Sharpe / Camara / Deni / Sabonis / Clingan is enough to minimize the lack of a true #1 option.

But paying 2 of Scoot / Sharpe / Donovan / pick is way too rich for me.

Id probably ask for another future 1st, but I think I'd still be okay with it. Sabonis has been a warrior for sac, sending him back home and getting a lotto pick + future 1st + only 1 year of bad money is fine. Adding Murray for his brother is a potentially fun story for next year which is going to be grim for sac anyways.

I would probably get talked into including the lower of the 2029 FRP.

Ayton + Murray + #10 + 2029 FRP (Lowest) for Sabonis.
Simons + RWIII for Cole + KCP + #16 (ORL gives up higher pick due to cutting a year from Cole / KCP as Simons / RWIII are EC)

G - Scoot Henderson (32) / Cole Anthony (16) / Dalano Banton (VM)
G - Shadeon Sharpe (32) / Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (16) / Matisse Thybulle
F - Toumani Camara (32) / Matisse Thybulle (16) / Rayan Rupert
F - Deni Avdija (34) / Domantas Sabonis (14) / Rasheer Flemming (FRP 16)
C - Domantas Sabonis (20) / Donovan Clingan (28) / Duop Reath

I think thats an interesting team. Not a clear contender but there are enough young guys with upside variance to have a punchers chance in developing well. Lots and lots of defense around Sabonis.

I would be all over this for Portland, but I suspect Kings pass.

The #10 should be well short. Adding Murray doesn’t cover the gap. As stated, a distant pick is worthless to the new GM unless he plans to flip it asap. Kings already have all their firsts and two more. They need talent that fits now or a full rebuild. This trade rides the fence to much between those directions IMO.

It'd be interesting if Portland offered their best 2029 FRP (top 3 protected) as part of the deal
for Sabonis

I think in order to build a fringe contending team around Sabonis, you need to pair him with a rim protector. I have concerns about a Coingin/Sabonis front court - but if Portland goes forward with a Sabonis trade the thesis would be playing those two guys together.

Personally, I think a guy like Beef Stew would be a perfect pairing for Sabonis - proving a little floor spacing with rim protection.
