Would be amusing to see Memphis get a lucky break and beat gsw tomorrow. gsw plays Sacramento/Dallas and gets run out of the playoffs. lol
Could happen.

Pelicans Fire Executive Griffin. The so called talk of the town who fleeced us by taking Ball, ingram and all those picks. Well championship later, and now LUka in the House, dude is canned and sent packing. Many on the GB made mention how we lost that trade. Trading ex pelican anthony davis for Luka, is a gigantic affirmation of how that trade keeps paying dividends

Agreed. It did. But I can’t say with certainty that it wouldn’t have paid even more dividends nor that we wouldn’t have got a ring or two with the continuation of a roster of Bron, Ingram, Hart, Randle, Kuzma, Caruso, Lonzo.

I dont think this team wins a championship. Looks more like a 2nd or conf finals exit at most.

Caruso and perhaps Lonzo (kuzma is fine i guess, he worked out in his role) would be integral parts of a championship team the rest arent IQ ready or impactful enough (given the role they would have, e.g. Ingram being the second option)

Agreed. AD netted us Luka. We would’ve had to work through trades to make that roster a cohesive line-up.

Just saying that those guys would’ve netted us good return too even if it were in pieces.

To your point, that’s why trading multiple promising players for an all-star is a great investment; you can only start five players. The more punch each player packs… Then when you one day trade the all-star, you can go two for one plus picks like we did and add a superstar. If you get Nico’s phone call, that is.

Effectively, Rob did a great job drafting that group of guys, converted them into an all-star big man to pair with Bron, won us a ring, then Rob drafted great again with Christie, converted him and AD into a superstar in Luka.

Well done playing the long game. Our draft picks have been excellent since Magic left the FO alone. Our trades have been solid, too.

Dude should've read the tea leaves. As soon as the point guard went down with injury, he should've taken the year off

He was the only one consistently scoring for the Mavs but he worked hard often dribbling into the paint and shooting over JJJ or Edey so pushing his body to the limit.

A couple of years ago Bill Simmons theorized that he bulked up too much and was carrying too much weight, which is why he was getting injured often.

Last season he played the most games in several years.

The last shot he took, he was barely able to move and took a wide open 3 and air balled it.

BIG GAME/BIG GAME/disappear/BIG GAME/disappear/disappear/BIG GAME/injury.....
BIG GAME/BIG GAME/disappear/BIG GAME/disappear/disappear/BIG GAME/injury.....

almost like a drum rhythm .. I feel for the guy and I hope he recovers, but man, I'm so glad he's not with us anymore. I'd take any decent package to replace him on the team.

When Luka pulls the Goberts of the world out to the three point line, who would guard Lopez parked behind the three? It could work. Always loved his game. Solid on both ends. Old though.

ehhh i think the lesson POP would have left us with is that continuity matters in the crunch... we've made our moves, we won't likely have a long continuity, but it's time for Rob to find a few bigs and keep this team together. Also F- Westbrook and f- murray so IDK who to want to advance... especially knowing I don't want the green f's to get anymore championships. Ny, Cleveland, Indi... any of those.

Both teams healthy, I think OKC takes them down in 6 or 7. Depth, defense and coaching unmatched. Cleveland - Oklahoma would be a fun Finals series.

Celtics just can NOT be allowed to get to the Finals, let alone win. Can’t stand the fact that they still count rings from the ancient cigar league of 11 teams.

If there is a basketball god, they simply shouldn’t be allowed to win it all again until they stop counting the old ABA era rings.

I want no one from the west winning the championship now. They all lame and annoying. I was rooting for clips after we lost, but now I figure best thing to happen is for Celtics to win a 19th championship.
I respect our historical nemesis. Every protagonist will have to face up to their nemesis. They are only as legitimate and respected as their nemesis is a superlative foe.
