Re: OT: NFL 24-25 Thread Cont'd
I've seen a few people suggest Jeanty at 5, and I don't hate it as much as I thought I would
On the one hand, it's bad value and we have more pressing needs than RB. On the other hand, he's one of 3 real blue chip prospects in this draft. So we could go for one of Graham, Campbell, or McMillan who are all good prospects and much better positional value, or we could just take BPA and let it sort itself out
I still think we'd be better off taking Graham or Campbell, get the lines sorted first. 5th overall is high for a RB when none of our O line are irreplaceable and our WR2 right now is Parker Washington.

I’ve fully talked myself into the Carter/Milroe start to the draft.

Outside of long-term QB what do you think the biggest needs for the Giants are?
- DT2 is a massive one
- CB2 could have an argument (I hope Banks takes the next step)
- Guard
- WR2?
Reaching for need can come back to bite you big time but hard to ignore we have some pretty glaring holes at the moment

Seems like those are the first 3 picks. Ward and Hunter seen locked in. Where Sanders falls is up in the air.
Maybe if Mara steps in and demands Sanders would be the wild card.

Yeah which would be wild because you bring these guys back to trust them to only overrule there evaluation. It wouldn't shock me.
It should be relatively simple if you ask me. Nearly every evaluator says there are only 3 consensus top 10 type picks in this draft that would be a top 10 pick in most drafts
That would be:
Hunter
Carter
Ward
Ward is seen by most below the top 3 guys last year but above the JJ/Penix/Nix evaluations from last year but because of the QB "boost" is still a reasonable top 3 type pick
So the Giants are sitting at a spot they can't screw up if they just let the draft fall to them.
If they want to get aggressive with there early 2nd and try to secure a QB of the future whether that is staying in the 2nd or moving up slightly so be it. I would prefer to continue to let draft come to you but understand the dynamics of a franchise needing to sell a QB to fan base. At least we would have a blue chipper to impact right away why we wait for that QB.

Are you not comfortable with Johnson and Bellinger? I'm kind of disappointed that Bellinger hasn't really improved at all.
DT/WR are musts. This is a RB deep draft so we can nab another guy to go with Tracy. I really would like another tackle on this roster because AT makes me very nervous about him lasting an entire season

Re: OT: NFL 24-25 Thread Cont'd
My Guess since it’s the last week that Milroe gets some late hype. Not specifically with Giants per se but just in general.
Accuracy, Footwork and reading defenses well at this point aside, physically dude is the goods.
A team on the back end might be def be looking to snatch him.
All the way through the first round this draft will be interesting this year.
I really don’t put stock in mocks. So when I see things like Milroe to the Giants at 34 i don’t think much of it cause nobody even knows he will even be there.
If he is there at 34….then it’s like a 98% he will be picked by the Giants.
In the Chance that Milroe and Dart go in the first and the Giants are not involved…that will throw a whole monkey wrench in they plan I feel.
It’s safe to assume that the giants have mostly focused on a combination of X player and QB later or QB and X Player later.
Milroe or SS is one of them QB combos. We Know Carter is one player X. I don’t know who 2nd round Player X would be.
But back to Milroe and Dart going first and the Giants not involved.
Them other two QBs better not even be a thought at the top of the 2nd.
I would take Milroe any day over them cats at top of the second. Like I said about SS. I will say the same thing Jalen, If he hits then you got something. I don’t see them other two cats hitting nothing but a hit to first base. That’s later round material.
Imma be honest, outside of picks 3 and QB at 34 I haven’t thought to much about who I want on the team. I prob won’t even till after those picks. That’s how crazy this year is to me. The possibility of Carter is high at 3 that I have only been locked into that range.
I have only thought mostly three players in this cycle once I realized Hunter was likely going 2nd.
SS
Carter
Milroe
One of the most limited drafts for me ever in terms of scouting other cats heavily.

Re: OT: NFL 24-25 Thread Cont'd
just a little experiment, i looked at QBs picked in the 2nd-4th round in the past 10 drafts, and there are AT BEST 4 hits in the past 10 years: jalen hurts, dak prescott, derek carr and jimmy garoppolo if you want to consider him as a hit. i think with QBs being taken higher and higher in the draft cause of the position premium, 2nd round Qbs just aint what they once were. i'm off on taking QBs in the 2nd or 3rd especially cause our 2nd and 3rd are in a pretty premium spot. either trade up for someone worthy in the 1st (SS) or take someone in the back end of the draft

Just stop it with the WRs. That’s super low on the priority list. Nabers/Robinson/Slayton/Hyatt are absolutely fine. No need to waste picks every single year to get another WR when they just need a good QB to throw to them.
The run defense has been absolutely atrocious. Getting a solid interior lineman next to Sexy Dexy should be a much larger priority
