2025 Playoffs: Round 1, Game 1: Heat @ Cavs - 7pm EST on 4/20

Every cavs fans think we lose in 4/5 games. I don't see it. The last game we played against cavs, Rozier and Klove started. Rozier played 40 mins, klove 16 mins. Sprinkle in duncan lack of defense and cavs barely won. The game before that, Duncan started (30 mins) , Rozier played 33 mins, JJJ(7 mins) etc. Not to mention, no Wiggs in any contest. The Cavs have not played this version of Heat. I don't want to sound to cocky, but I believe we win this series.

No Anderson or Mitchell in those games either.

I’ll be focusing on the Bam vs Mobley matchup. If Bam doesn’t outplay him, we’re donezo.

Herro and Mitchell’s averages this series will probably cancel each other out. To make this competitive, we need the 2020 Game 6 Bam against the Celtics. 17 points won’t be enough, he has to outplay Mobley, period.

I want to see the young guys show something, herro and Bam to llok like leaders and the put on a decent fight in the home games.

This team is still very lacking in offensive creation, but let's start building some good habits and develop our inexperience guys.

Switching will be the key.

Atkinson loves to switch everything. Which means we will get mismatches vs Mitchell and garland. The defensive counter is a principle called "tag" which the cavs can't run. Ideally, we get Wiggins in the post early and often. I know many dislike him him, but its the optimal strategy vs the cavs and switching defenses. This makes bam the most important player. He will also get mismatches, but it will also give him a ton of second chance opportunities since the cavs arent a great defensive rebounding team. Wiggins just needs to be aggressive, him missing isnt a big issue, because hes an implied threat because Atkinson knows him. The cavs will send a double or spy. Bam should be able to feast in the paint, and if his 3 ball is on? Easy 30 piece.

Tagging is something spo should incorporate. Too many times in the Hawks game, we gave them the switch. It just allowed the Hawks to target herro, Burks, or Robinson. Now imagine it's garland, Mitchell, and Hunter seeking out those options. We might be playing alot of zone.

If he does, it's going to be because our perimeter guys are overhelping and leaving him open or herro is cheating of strus and gambling for steals.

If he does, it's going to be because our perimeter guys are overhelping and leaving him open or herro is cheating of strus and gambling for steals.

I could also see Spo going to the zone too much and him making us pay with open 3s.

We have to get something from our front court. but Bam left a lot to be desired on both sides of the ball in the second half.

Bam usually needs to cover for our weak perimeter defenders, taking that into account he had a phenomenal defensive game, also his first quarter scoring kept us ahead of the hawks, with our bad 3 point shooting game if not for Bam we would have been trailing after the first quarter. Not saying he is a primary scorer by any means but people can not expect him to play defense at such level and be able to score 30 a game.

That will depend on the team we are facing. Anderson is a clear prime example

In Spos mind he’s the 3rd option, every shiny new toy Spo gets gets prioritized offensively over Bam which is why he was the 4th option last year after the Terry trade (lol). Now he’s the 3rd option playing the Chris Bosh role, I don’t agree with it and every time he’s forced to play a heavier role he shows up but whatever. I will say at least with Herro and Wiggins being the 1st and 2nd options they actually do have the best matchups this series so maybe it’ll actually work out like Spo wants it to.
