It’s on Spo to scheme around it, his offense is way too valuable to have him sitting. Same thing happened with Curry during the Warriors' run, they found ways to make it work.

And I am going to go out on a limb and say that this is not something I expect to be a repeat performance for Tyler when we have more rest. This was an anomaly imo.

I'm not saying Herro is a good defender. I'm not even saying he's an average one yet, although he absolutely MUST grow on that end. But he has not been as bad as he was tonight all year. I hope he takes it personally. Because that game film is going to be embarrassing af for him.

I don't know how long you've been a Heat fan but think Thunder Dan defensively, that's what he reminds me of. Offensively he's that too, but without a bad back, so he can blow by his man for the finish occasionally.

Awesome I've only seem him in highlights I've been a Heat fans since Shaq and Wade teamed up.

He has promise as a defender, needs more experience and his shooting needsbto improve, another Miami project.

I would start mitchell next game.

Put him on spider.
Put herro on garland
Put wiggins on strus. Let him and bam be the help.
I'd rather let the cavs iso herro and have your best defenders in help mode than have to put herro into any kind of movement to shift the defense.

Don't play highsmith at 4.
Ware or slomo when the cavs play 2 bigs.

This team has nothing at backup PG to start Mitchell. You essentially have to bump up Rozier. The team solidified itself when Mitchell became the backup. Robbing peter to pay paul. Better off just starting Larrson over Burks.

next game, Heat need to put Cavs Mitchell to work on defense to wear him out. Miami needs to figure out how they can get Duncan shoots off in the next game, it's absolutely essential that Wiggins show up next game because Cavs will continue to attack Herro. Defense needs some adjustment to make it tightener especially with Herro on the floor because Cavs seems to do whatever they wants against Herro and there need to be collective effort on defense., I have a problem with bam being so far out of the paint which was why Cavs was able to scored 48 points in the paint because there is no one to clean up the lapse in defense. Heat Mithcell plays well and needs him to keep playing that way or better into the next game.

While all of that is true, that wasn't my problem with Tyler this game. Like Marson said, this is par for the course at this point, that teams would try to target him. But him being a passive bystander on offense the whole second half was completely unacceptable. Yeah, they were face guarding him, but he needed to be more aggressive in getting open and calling for the ball. With the team as constructed, if he doesn't have a good game on offense, we are toast.

Who are we talking about as the Wiggins stan?

Something with Canuck in it.

I'm clearly open to a discussion of what I saw was incorrect about Tyler's defense in this game. If he was good, I'm open to being corrected. Or is attacking posters rather than the post the norm on this board.

Pretty cringe to also be calling out the player who literally just made history a couple nights ago by being leading the first ten seed to the playoffs, while the player he stans for was invisible the whole game tonight.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I'm good with Larson too, but wasnt sure if he could stand up to the physicality of spider.

I think we had a good game overall considering we just had to play two games on the road to even make it into this position. We still have the better coach on our side, too.

Spot on. His defense was his biggest problem to me by far (but again, I don't think he's been nearly as bad on D all year as people are claiming), but I agree with this as well. I expect Spo to make adjustments to free him up. I also hope they are in the refs/NBA's ear about the holding too.

I’m with MWP on this. Larsson was huge during that 6-game win streak.

Could be the ankle injury, hard to say. But honestly, we pretty much need all defenders out there when Herro’s on the floor.

Spo can try to have a late double scheme when Herro is hunted.
