I didn't like him coming out of the draft. It doesn't look like he's added or grown his game. I would be hesitant to give him max deal.

whoever called him a tiktok baller lmao, the best description i ever heard for him. nobody is paying him the max, i wouldn't be surprised if they just move on from him and just acquire a player that does what they need.

Yeah that's the predicament Rockets have - they need a scoring guard to replace Green and those ain't found easily nor are they available. They have to swing a trade if they want to win now.

Probably worth keeping him if on a friendly deal that they could trade later, maxing him basically crystalizing the cap permanently if he ends up playing like this. If they want a quick fix they probably would be better looking at some of the overperforming roleplayers this year and paying them to come to Houston, might be risky if its a post-season fluke but might be a better way to approach it vs acquiring the Zach Lavine guards of the league.

I almost wonder if they might having something with a super sized lineup with Jabari at the 4, Amen at the 3, and Brooks at 2. If Jalen Green isn't showing up then they need Jabari's offensive skillset

This guy has way too many variables in his scoring numbers. The guy will go for 9 and then 30 the next night. That doesn't fly in the playoffs.

jalen has been exposed...he aint as good as Donte D! or Podzimski or Payton Pritchard but he wants more money than all of them combined...he is Kuminga or Beal... don't pay him like Beal...

Jalen Green isn't even as good as current Beal, let alone prime Beal who he's nowhere close to. He is Jordan Clarkson at best. Rockets have just given him a long leash cuz they invested a lot in him

Damn you really gave Green the Clarkson label

Thats a death sentence.

I remember lakersground being hyped as **** about him when he was a rookie with the lakers and had a couple of good games

I would not give Jalen Green many minutes if I was Udoka. But he's probably forced to because he's their former top pick and they want him to still have trade value.

I dont know if he's that bad. All i remember from Clarkson is he had zero handles. Green can get to his shots he's just wildly inconsistent. They both looked like crap in their first playoff game though

He played Sengun, Adams, Jabari, Eason and Amen. That's ridiculous. Amen isn't ready to be primary ballhandler (not in the playoffs anyway).

Clarkson is 20.8/4.4/3.8 on 53.9 TS% per 36 minutes in his career.

Jalen Green is 22.1/4.7/3.7 per 36 minutes on 54.2 TS% in his career so far. And he hasn't shown much improvement.

Neither play defense.

Yeah that lineup was not good. All these jumbo lineups need Vanvleet in as pg to work. The problem tonight was both guards were beyond awful. I expect Vanvleet to at least improve to average if not good. I'm not confident J Green will

Clarkson had the problem of ruining every offense by isoing so he worked great as a 6th man. However he also could win you a few games doing that. The rockets could use even a terrible efficiency "green light" player for some minutes of the game. Can't be worse than what we've seen today.

Rockets still need a primary offensive engine.

Would love too see Harden come home for the end of his career.

Maybe they get lucky and jump to #2 for Harper.

What's the word on Kuminga? Is he just done?

Let’s be real. He is getting DNP'd until he is forced to sign for peanuts. The Warriors way.

So to whom exactly has GSW done this ?. As it happens Kuminga knocked back 30 million per year earlier in the season.

On the other hand Kuminga was good in the regular season against Houston and GSW are height challenged against them in particular, so many on the GSW board would be playing him in this series. Kerr does seem to take a set against some players, particularly young ones. Everyone also criticised his rotations and lineups in 2022 however, not that this team has any real chance imo even if they get through Houston 3 years on with Curry and Green 3 years older and Jimmy hardly a spring chicken either. Play-offs Jimmy still looks to be a thing so far though.

They’ll definitely take a game - one of FVV, Green or Brooks is bound to get hot from 3 over the next 3. I just don’t know how they take more than 1 unless multiple guys go off on a prolonged hot streak. There is no half court offense there and this is the playoffs….

Imagine being the most inexperienced playoff team having to figure out how to stop jimmy butler and steph curry while trying to close out games against a top 10 defense with fvv. Its only been one game but the narratives arent on the rockets side right now.
