Bigs out there blocking shots. I know we can beat them, but Tatum needs to play better, as well as porzingis. We can’t have them play like that. When is the last time JT scored 30 on good efficiency. We can’t have him score 3/15 on 1/8 on 3’s to start off games. Hope he shows up and be consistent, as he was most of the season.

Literally two games ago against the Knicks (32 points on 63 TS%). What are we even doing here ?

Yeah that’s right. He was cookin bridges the whole game on mid ranges. To answer your question. JT has been a model of inconsistency in the playoffs. Last year was really awful for a superstar. Took awful shots and bricked most of them. Previous years, he can have a great game, then totally lay an egg on the next one. I hope he can overcome his mental struggles in the playoffs. He was giving last years’ playoff vibes the whole game. Missing layups, taking tough turn arounds, taking contested iso 3’s, and missing free throws. Its all mental. So just stop with all this green teammer mentality. We all want JT to succeed. Just pointing the obvious here.

Bunch of days off, showed some rust but it's back to the regular scheduled program with the C's.

I wasn't impressed with how the Magic played against the Hawks and nothing changed yesterday. They're active on the boards but I'm sure that'll be cleaned up going forward.

Great sign that White and PP are grooving because that lifts up the starters and the bench.

I wouldn't be surprised if the C's win every game by double digits.

The 2nd quarter was disappointing, how orlando wanted it more, was playing harder, was more aggressive going after loose balls/rebounds, playing with more urgency.

But that sometimes happens with Boston (and with all elite teams, really) there's stretches here and there where they don't quite go as hard, thinking it'll be easy vs a lower seeded team.

Luckily we showed in that 2nd half why we're the defending champs..and we took care of business.

Orlando just is not on our level.

I could see them maybe stealing 1 win in Orlando..but this series will be over in either 4 or 5 games.

Wow Mazzulla. Joe held the trainer back from going over to help, and barked out "Get up!" to Tatum as he laid on the floor after the wrist injury.

The clip of Mazzulla yelling at Tatum to get up after his wrist fall and also not allowing the trainers to go out there to help him is the most Balkan coaching thing I’ll see today. He really is a serial killer without basketball.

I jokingly said Mazzulla was going to choke someone out in the locker room at halftime, but maybe he actually did.

I never heard the term "Balkan coaching thing". Maybe he meant to say Spartan? :dontknow:

I'm assuming by his last name he's Greek, so I'm surprised he didn't use Spartan.

Without getting into publicly complaining about my inlaws who could care less about sports, Easter dinner was delayed 2 hours, then another 90+ minutes and I had to watch the entire game on my phone while providing my 11 year old son frequent updates and views on my screen. Go C's!

I like this as a first round matchup. Orlando will beat us up and make us actually work hard. We should hit round two fully awake and ready to obliterate the Knicks.

Never seen two bigs (KP and Al) more clueless in the paint on O.

Both seem to have no plan and just throw something up there.

For a 7'3" center,he spent alot of time stumbling around and falling on the floor. Dude should be scoring at will in the paint on just length alone.

Haven't KP postups been just about the highest points-per-touch of anything in the league the last couple of seasons? If so, pretty sure it includes his line drive jumpers from 15ft out, which I don't love stylistically, but they go in at a high %.

He had a bad game offensively today. It happens. I think it's realistic to expect he'll calibrate how to specifically score against these Magic, and be better offensively for most/all of the rest of this series.

KP can be efficient but definitely is not always smooth. I wish we could hire former all-time great and one-time solid HC in Kevin Mchale as an assistant (especially since I feel Sam Cassell will be gone) to work with our Bigs and especially KP. KP Brings the ball down way too much and definitely needs better footwork. That and Maybe Mchale would like to get back into being a HC one day. Feel he proved to be a good one overall.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Wikipedia tells me McHale last coached in 2015 -- he's 67 years old now -- not sure what his broadcasting schedule is/has been like, but my guess is that he's used to the life of relative luxury by now.

And: you can learn post moves from a lot of people -- doesn't have to be a Boston legend who had a unique build and bag of tricks. McHale's torture chamber moves were works of art, but with KP it's turnaround jumpers, one dribble drives, and/or rolling for lobs -- I'm wondering as I type this, has the game truly changed? Or do I just doubt that KP's body would move that way? Sengun and Jokic occasionally do some spot-light post ups reminiscent of at least McHale's era -- do they fundamentally have a type of fluidity KP doesn't, or am I just assuming that KP is a bit too old (and effective as is) to learn a whole new set of tricks?

I've written a lot of words to say that I don't know if I agree with your proposal to have KP work on his actual post up game.

That's Bill Chisolm standing and enthusiastically cheering, and his wife cheering next to him. Wyc and Steve are sitting right next to each other. I saw them chatting together during the game.

Chisolm's obviously a real fan.

Contrast the picture with this article about the Mavs change of ownership. Their new owner is completely out of touch and definitely not an engaged fan like Bill Chisolm as depicted above.

Wyc is a much better steward of the sacred trust than Cuban was.

Dating back to 1963 playoffs, Pritchard became the 5th Celtics player to score 19+ pts on 100%+ TS% in a playoff game. Horford already did it twice. LaFrentz, Wedman, and Don Nelson are the other three.
