Scotty Pippen Jr has really settled into a solid all-round game. In 21mpg he's averaging 9.9ppg shooting the 3 at 40% on almost 3 attempts per game (4.7 per36), averaging 4.4apg (7.4apg per36), 3.3rpg, 1.3spg (2.2 per36), 1.7tov. He's not going to give you the kind of shooting Jerome will, but he'll give you enough plus a complete game and solid defense. Not sure what it would take for Memphis to want to move him, or even what their plans are for the team since they fired Jenkins and are in free-fall since. Maybe Jett + pick?

I doubt Philly would bite but I'd throw a big offer at them for McCain even though he's injured. Obvs by big I mean low-ball by their standards because PB/FW/JS/AB are off the board. Everyone else is fair game plus picks. I'd eat PG's contract if they gave us McCain. Send them Moe Wag, Harris, KCP, Isaac, our picks this draft and another future FRP.

Wouldn't mind Pippen. I don't think McCain is going to happen, I can't even consider it.

I'll throw Marcus Sasser's name in the hat of potential hidden gems, currently buried behind Schroder for the Pistons. Probably more of a combo guard, but he can shoot it.

FVV still seems like a great addition if he is available.

Rockets fans want to fire him into the sun, funny how he'd be our best option

I'd take him with open arms. He's notoriously streaky also, as we saw last night

Him along with a Cole upgrade and a big man who we draft this year (Sorber, Maluach) would have our team looking completely different.

Scottie pippen Jr is a player I've looked at for a while. He's a great player and plays bigger than he is. Won't be easy to trade for him at that production and price.

Naz strikes me as more of a Moe than a 2-way starter who can bang...I get Tyus vibes-know your role

It occurred to me today...why can't Moe just start playing some D and grab the job.

A couple of people mentioned the full MLE...I thought I put that out there and was informed that we didn't qualify for it (without doing some trimming)

Hope I'm wrong...not that he'd use it.

Me too...I've proposed some stuff with Durant going to HOU, WCJ/Reed Shepherd/KCP & our picks to PHX, FVV here (forget the details but we were NOT kicking in the whole price for KD, maybe HOU included Jabari or Eason too. Anyway, HOU fans mostly felt that FVV was still their heartbeat and Amen still isn't really a PG.

That is accurate, but they could get under the tax very easily to use the full MLE if they were so inclined.

Right now the Magic on July 1 will be $11.4M over the tax as Franz and Suggs' extensions kick in.

But that includes the team options on Moe at $11M, Gary at $7.5M, CoJo at $3.5M and Caleb $2.2M. I would expect only Caleb to have his option picked up of those four guys. Moe could get resigned, but it would probably be for less than $11M.

Declining those other three team options would shed $22M and out the Magic about $11M under the tax.

And Paolo's extension eligible this summer also. His poison pill would kick in. That'll put us above the tax again?

No.

His extension doesn't count any extra against the cap until it actually kicks in which would be July 1, 2026.

The poison pill stuff is just so teams don't sign guys to big extensions and then trade them before they actually kick in.

Good to know. The more responsible thing would be to move out some dead weight as matching and pay the freight with picks...but, hey, it's not my money. I really like having KCP but just too big a role and too big a paycheck, presuming Suggs is rocking. I'd love him as a super-sub, maybe even backing up 3 as well as 2, but it's still a lot without serious bench offensive firepower.

If we can pull that off it's a home run!

Naz Reid would be a great fit for this team. But he has options this summer. He can stay in Minnesota by exercising his player option or he can go else where

Naz Reid is going to get disgustingly paid this offseason. He will prob make something in the 30mil area. Way out of our range unless we sign and trade Issac or Dell.
