If they did a competent executive would have resigned rather than gone that route much less take the deal he did.

But that’s where the Nike factor and Harrison’s personal douchebaggery would come in combination as well.

And of course there’s no pinning this solely on the GM either (not that they aren’t trying). Owners call Cuban or anyone who knows the business of bball they’d say no way.

Ownership knows they forced him into this. So he’ll stay on for a bit more.

We can all easily envision Dumont and his mother-in-law Miriam saying “What? This guy wants a $350 million dollar contract? Trade him and get the best you can. Just get it done”.

That doesn't explain why they didn't get the best they could. Why wasn't it open to the whole league?

Spot on PP. I reckon it’s been a case of a cheap owner all along. This is the extreme version of Clay Bennett cheaping out on harden back in the day.

The Dumont’s aren’t basketball ppl and don’t seem to really give a **** about it. But they do care about money like all billionaires and saw that Luka contract as over the top money for a basketball player.

Nico’s prob just the patsy in all of this and did his old friends at the Lakers a favour by gifting them Luka.

A-ok with that.

As an aside, It's probably a fool's errand, as a fan, trying to guess who could be the next GM but I was wondering if Onsi Saleh could be a guy for the Bucks. Unlikely now, I suppose.

Detroit’s been awesome, and Cade looks so good.

The contrast in off-ball movement between the bucks (sans Green) and Pistons is pretty nuts.

Their whole team moves well.

Why is that a clear path? Because he didn’t make a play on the ball, he just fouled him in the act of shooting?

Haven't been watching but zero assists for Cade is pretty wild.

Brunson is so floppy it’s hard to watch. Would be infuriating trying to guard him.

I officially do not like Brunson he’s a very obnoxious player. Very Harden like using the refs.

Yeah this feels gross to watch right now. Detroit doesn't deserve this.

Knicks strategy is just to continue to fall on the floor.
