Clippers are actually favored [-1.5] in this one. Vegas believes.

I really can't agree with the whole nonchalant "it's only Game 1 and we played poorly and still only lost in OT, we'll be okay" take. The Clippers have gifted soooo many playoff games away like this over the last 20 years and it's the single biggest reason why this franchise still has nothing to show for all its regular-season success. It is, in fact, a big deal, and it is cause for concern when we see the same familiar pattern playing out again. It shouldn't be something we all just shrug our shoulders and make excuses for as fans.

The truth is that we had one good burst of play and then were trash for the rest of the game. It was only a close loss in the end because we were up 15 before the typical chokejob started. I'm not sure we can build another 15-point cushion with Kawhi, Norm and Bogi playing this way and Lue coaching this way, and as we just saw, a 15-point cushion still isn't even enough. We'll just have to see about the players, but I have zero faith in Lue to figure out how to use his timeouts properly, get over his small-ball obsession, and give minutes to whoever's actually playing well rather than his favorites. We basically need 2019 Raptors Kawhi to overcome Lue's coaching, and he's nowhere near that level so far.

I agree and disagree. We can’t hand wring but the shoulder shrug and take care of the ball is all we need to do to win the game isn’t encouraging either.

I wouldn’t expect Lue to lay out any tweaks he’s making but I believe him when he says they’ll only make changes in game 3 if game 2 doesn’t produce different results. I guess that’s better than the usual 10 game sample.

Whatever happened, happened.

Let's even this up. Clippers 110 - 100 Denver.

Kawhi needs to play. He can't be disappearing in the 4th. I hope he has watched the game afterwards and gave himself some motivation

Outside of Leonard having a better game I don’t have much faith until the supporting cast starts contributing.

Justin Russo asked Ty before game 1, what was the keys to the series. IIRC, he said take care of the ball, and get back on transition defense. Well they definitely didn't take care of the ball in game 1. I expect the team to pay special attention to limiting turnovers tonight. If they do that, and someone else contributes (Norm, looking at you), I still like the team's chances. Absolutely don't want to see another Bogi and Simmons PnR again...

So we were trash when GS built double digit leads and we came back last Sunday. Give me a break. Big early leads get overcome throughout a game all the time. We got up and made some careless plays that allowed Denver to get some momentum. We have to do a better job of playing smart basketball in those situations.

We gave up 98 points during regulation. Sorry, that is not trash. It was a 4 pt game at the half. Maybe if Norm and Zu don't combine for going 1/5 from the FT line or we don't have 3 Pointers account for 38% of our shot attempts we would have come out on top. in Game 1.

The team was in the game, they battled and they came up short. They have some very correctable items to address. They lost 3 home games in the 1st round against Dallas in 2021 and closed out the series at home. Lue is not going to panic.

Get Powell out. He’s broken.

Dumb turnover by Harden.

Terrible start. Did they learn nothing from game 1?

Lue effing around. He needs to get Powell out now.

Leonard understood the assignment.

Powell broken.

Harden turning it over and building a brick house.

At what point do they bench Powell and bring in DJJ? Or maybe even Bogi? Norm is becoming Trez 2.0.

Thank god for Kawhi's strong start, Harden and Norm unwatchable so far.

Leonard could score a 100 and it won’t matter.

Harden, Powell, and Bogi are trash right now.

Harden didn’t even stop the ball and now his 3rd turnover.

Harden and Powell 0-9 :banghead:

Get them outta the game. Powell no better.

My unprofessional opinion… feed Zu with good passes way more. Kawhi needs it. Everyone else pull your head out of your **s
