Same here. I usually miss the entire summer, preseason and follow this just sporadically. I'm still very sceptical if the Knicks can truly be great as long as Dolan is the owner. I know he has been invisible lately but just such an incompetent present lurking somewhere is bad Karma IMO.

I was watching the Pacers-Bucks series and thinking to myself that it was really sad the team got hit so bad by injuries last season. With a fully healthy squad we would have likely swept them. We basically lost 4-3 without Randle, Mitch, OG. We actually were 2-0 with Randle and Mitch out and OG playing. With a fully healthy squad I don't think the Pacers win even a single game.

We would have beat Indy in 4-5 and taken Boston to 7 (remember KP was hobbled and we battered them in the paint with iHart/Randle), potentially, with an outside shot of a finals showdown with the Mavs.

We had a legit contender with everyone healthy. A major What if? in NYK history...

Best team we had in over a decade and we blew it all up to be a treadmill. God knows when we’ll ever see a team like that again.

the team was good and had potential but "runs" are largely about circumstance and luck - unless you are truly an elite team which the knicks weren't. knicks would have been lucky last year to have faced the 6ers with a hobbled embiid, a decent pacers team, and a less than 100% celtics team to have a finals run. I wasn't overly impressed with the mavs last year either - their run felt a bit flukey.

the path now feels a lot harder and likely will be so going forward - especially with whatever monster comes out of the west.

so the "what could have been" is far more about the circumstance of last year moreso than what could have been this year or going forward. if losing i-hart was inevitable the team was never going to be the same going forward. i would agree though they could have tried to mitigate it better by trading for kessler/sexton or something along those lines. bridges trade is bad but giving thibs Kat never made sense. nick richards certainly wasn't saving this season.

Yeah we should’ve just traded for Kessler and Sexton while saving the rest of our picks for someone like Giannis later on. I think we’d be on the same level as last year or at least very close to it. Oh well.

The Timberwolves lost and he didn't defend. He had the worst net rating of all the starters.

They scored at will on him and his points came at the expense of the team. They couldn't even score 90 points. Empty calories.

Every starter on the Timberwolves had a negative net rating

Does anyone know how much points the robot scored in this year’s playoffs tho?

Look at MeLonoma trying to use context to explain a negative net rating, it hasn't even been a month that you told him it's a lineup stat, and he told you to kick rocks to continue to use it for evil purposes. Now it's "oh wait, the whole starting 5 was negative guys" do you see this? This man has zero honor!

Sounds like you’re in agreement that his 27 points 6 assists performance was great then

Letting ol boy stifle the Wolves offensive flow by racking up empty scoring stats while refusing to rebound or play defense played right into the Lakers game plan.

Brilliant coaching move by Redick.

I could type up a long reply, but instead I'll use a time machine and let you argue with Melo's of future past.

Shannon Sharpe is about to lose $100 million over onlyfans. Seems like the only safe brother is Stephen A Smith, and he's out here threatening to fight LeBron.

melo reminds me of this woman at a restaurant I went to a few years ago. She had a round belly, a black top with a shiny luxury brand logo that cut at the navel, skinny long shorts hugging her frog legs, and a pair of white crocs. Hair like Einstein's. In any case, I'm just painting this Rembrandt for you but she was at this long family table about 10 meters from mine, and the family started arguing with another table and then among themselves. No big deal, so I'm about to eat this buttered piece of steak I had just put on my fork when that whole table clears out with people screaming and others running out of the restaurant. Next thing you know I see this woman holding a waitress by her hair with her right hand, and waving a fork with her left hand, threatenig to hurt her or anyone who dared approach to stop her. Thankfully no one got seriously hurt but my point is that melo will use any tool to wage his unholy war. Fork, chopsticks, agent orange, a toaster, guan0 as human shield, this is a nasty individual with laughable weapons and rudimentary tactics. But his relentlessness is just a symptom of his desperation. He has no chance.

**** on Randle, but please don't use Lakers to support the argument. That's like using Philly footnotes against the Knicks. Do better. Minnesota in 6.

I stand on that. Randle has a net rating of +5.4 in the 2025 playoffs. You didn’t think that one through eh
