Timberwolves, Knicks Are Teams To Watch In Kevin Durant Rumors Depending On Postseason Results

The Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks are two teams to watch as potential Kevin Durant trade destinations depending on each team's postseason results, league sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The Suns are reportedly set to work with Durant on a trade this offseason.

The Suns are looking for the Rockets to swing a deal for Durant, though previous reports state that they are less likely to pursue a trade.

The Heat and Spurs are also in the discussion as potential Durant landing spots.

Knicks would be a disaster. KD needs a team with depth where he can play 30 min a night. Not a thibs team where he would be playing 40+

I wouldn’t count on Thibs being there next year they way this team is playing now.

I agree, if they don't make it to the ECF and take it 6-7 games, he's gone.

Knicks would laugh in their face if that was the offer. Knicks should be getting back multiple firsts in that deal.

I don't think Ishbia wants picks. He wants players to win now, not picks to win 4 years from now. If he can't get the players he wants for KD he will trade him for picks that he can then trade for players, but getting picks would not be an end goal in his mind... That said, he says no to this deal either way.

Thibs got the Knicks into the Playoffs 4 times in the past 5 seasons, after going 7 years of missing the Playoffs every year; before that, the Knicks missed the Playoffs 6 times in the 9 seasons. James Dolan is more likely going to give Thibs an extension instead of the boot

KD is better than OG, but OG is younger and on a longer contract, giving him more value than KD. Knicks would say no.

If KD’s traded, he would have an extension in place with the new team before the team acquires him. That’s why the article says the Suns will work with KD on a trade to get him to a team that he would extend with. So contract issue isn’t a factor at all. And OG being younger really doesn’t matter because KD will still be better than OG as an overall player for at least the next 3 years and the Knicks are in a must-win window now as Brunson is nearing his 30s.

I second that. The game has passed him. His offensive schemes are not good. Thibs has to go!

Making the playoffs is beyond our expectations now. We look forward to be in the eastern conference finals and beyond. We have enough talents on the team to achieve this goal. We cannot lose the series against the Pistons . I think he will be shown the door if that happens and I hope not.
