Brewers might have found a dude. He's made three starts for Wisconsin: 14.2 IP, 0 ER, 16 K, 2 BB. He's looked really good.

Looks like at least a 4 pitch mix in there too. 93-94 FB and cutter, changeup, breaking ball all moving. What a find.

Re: 2025 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
BA on nine off the radar prospects to keep an eye on.
Great to see Jadher continuing to look good, and Hardin's been eye opening this season. He doesn't look long for A-ball.
Jadher Areinamo, 2B/SS, Brewers
Signed out of Venezuela in January 2021, Areinamo has slipped under the radar in the Brewers’ talented system. He ranked as the team’s No. 24 prospect and captured the Midwest League batting title in 2024. He’s received strong reviews for his defense and was voted the best defensive second baseman in the Midwest League last year. Areinamo also saw time at shortstop and third base in each of the last three seasons.
Returning to High-A Cedar Rapids seems unusual, but the Brewers have upper-minors depth in the infield, meaning another go-round at the level is his best shot at playing time. So far this season, Areinamo continues to hit, slashing .274/.324/.500 over his first 16 games. He shows strong bat-to-ball abilities with some aggressive tendencies. If his exit velocity data is up this year, it could be a sign of a step forward for Areinamo’s overall profile.
Tyson Hardin, RHP, Brewers
The Brewers might have figured something out over the last few seasons. After striking gold with K.C. Hunt in 2023 as a undrafted free agent, the team plucked another Mississippi State reliever last summer in Hardin, who signed for $147,500 in the 12th round. Over three starts and 14.2 innings this year, Hardin has not let up a run while allowing just 10 baserunners in total (eight hits and two walks) while striking out 16. It’s been a dominant showing so far for Hardin with High-A Wisconsin.
The stuff matches the results, as well. Hardin sits 94-95 mph, touching 97 at peak from a 5-foot-3 release height due to above-average (6-foot-5) extension. The result is an outlier flat plane to the plate, as his average vertical approach angle is currently -3.9. That makes it one of the flattest fastballs in baseball at the moment. Hardin’s fastball quality is more than just the shape and power, however. He commands the pitch extremely well with a 74% strike rate in the season and generates a high rate of swings against it, currently boasting a 40% whiff rate. The rest of Hardin’s arsenal is also intriguing: a low-90s cutter as his primary secondary, a sweeper in the low-to-mid 80s, a sinker and a changeup.
Great to see Jadher continuing to look good, and Hardin's been eye opening this season. He doesn't look long for A-ball.

They're such a fun team to watch. And next year promises to be more of the same with the 2025 picks and their latest international class.

Between the Brewers current offensive core, and what they have coming, I am loving how the offense is looking for the next decade. Hopefully we hit on a handful more starting pitchers as well.

Prospects Live Daily Sheet
Daz Cameron, CF MIL (Triple-A)
3-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, K
Daz Cameron has crushed ever since joining Milwaukee, to the tune of a home run every 5 at-bats. That’s gotta be something, right? Probably not, but the journeyman outfielder has landed in player acquisition heaven with the Brewers. Everything they’ve touched lately has turned into gold; why not Cameron, too?
‼️Jacob Misiorowski, RHP MIL (Triple-A)
6 IP, H, BB, 8 K
This is the classic Misiorowski outing that makes me believe in him. His walk rates this year are in line with every other year, yet he’ll go do this and make me think he could really be an effective starter. I would love to see the Brewers bring him to their bullpen, forming what could be one of the best in the league despite Trevor Megill being the closer. They have 5 guys that could be first or second options on most MLB teams.

Re: 2025 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
And BP on Misi's great night.
Pitcher of the Day
Jacob Misiorowski, LHP, Milwaukee Brewers (Triple-A Nashville): 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.
Misiorowski is never going to have pinpoint command, given all the moving parts in the delivery, but when he’s around the zone, like he was on Tuesday evening, the stuff is almost unhittable. He generates plenty of awkward looking swings with the high-90s fastball and hard downward breaking curve. Misiorowski has also been leaning more heavily on the cutter in 2025, giving him another power offering to attack hitters.

I haven’t seen enough of Misio to know but the way he is described there, reminded me of an old Brewers pitcher, Jamey Wright. His stuff just moved so much and he was never really able to control it.

Re: 2025 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
BA's 15 prospects outside the top 100 who have stood out:
Luis Peña, SS, Brewers
Low-A Carolina boasts one of the most talented lineups in MiLB to begin 2025. While top prospect Jesus Made is the headliner, so far Peña has been the star at the plate. Over his first eight games, Peña is hitting .358/.435/.528 with a home run and 12 stolen bases on a 14 attempts. Peña brings excellent plate skills, showing advanced bat-to-ball ability, strong swing decisions and burgeoning power. Year over year, his exit velocities have shown a significant early jump, as his 90th percentile EV is up more than five miles per hour.
The biggest knock on Peña’s profile is his lack of fielding ability. He’s had five starts at shortstop this year and made four errors. He’s not a shortstop long term, but cleaning up his actions and fielding ability will be a point of emphasis as he advances.
Braylon Payne, OF, Brewers
Some considered Payne to be a bit of a surprise pick to Milwaukee at 17th overall last July. So far, the selection looks like a shrewd move by the Brewers. A member of aforementioned Carolina Mudcats lineup boasting Made, Peña, Eric Bitonti and Josh Adamczewski, Payne’s star has also shone bright, as he’s hitting .305/.435/.508 with six extra base hits and 11 stolen bases. Payne is a tooled-up lefthanded-hitting outfielder with projection remaining in his frame. He’s a double-plus runner who’s showing a more polished hit tool than expected to go with surprising thump. Payne has the type of toolsy, up-the-middle profile that often curries favor from front offices during Top 100 feedback.

Might be time to start paying attention to Carolina C/DH Marco Dinges, 2024 4th rounder. He's got 2 walks and 2 hits today, bringing his average up to .372 with an OPS over 1.100.

With his change up all of a sudden looking like a real MLB level pitch I wonder how longer he'll be down

Re: 2025 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
The walks being low is the big one. That's all that's keeping him from being called up. Hope he keeps it up.

Re: 2025 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
It sounds like Carolina utility man Luiyin Alastre is heading to Wisconsin. He's hitting .311 with an .899 OPS.
