Shortout to the crowd at TD Garden tonight. They were loud and vocal all night especially in the fourth quarter and I felt that energy help the players get over the hump in a potentially tricky game.

Duncan Robinson was -17 tonight in 12 minutes in a 9 point loss.

You were saying about Sam?? :D

Nice win for the Celtics, buys them a little wiggle room in dealing with Tatum's injury. Judging by the way Shams has been talking it seems like he may be out for game 3.

Best case scenario is they win this series in 4 or 5 and the DET/NYK series goes 6/7. That would give them nearly a full extra week off before the next round.

Brown drove me crazy with his overdribbling but overall thought that was one of the best games he has played as a pure scorer in a while..

Banchero is so good. I really don't want to go to Orlando without Tatum.

I'm still waiting for when teams are going to pick on Payton Pritchard and be successful. he is so tough I thought he played Better defense on Banchero than anyone else for that matter.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Nice win.

VC to Brown and KP. Brown was great!! He carried the team for the most part.

KP with a big bounce back game. He didn't shoot well again, but he was aggressive. He got to the line 14 times and had 10 rebounds and scored 20 points. That was a dirty play by Bitadze. Soon as he got in the game, he hurt KP with that bs elbow.

Pritchard was really good. His pressure on the ball was a big difference in the game. He had an already around good game.

White, Jrue and Al were all solid.

Props to Joe. Good coached game. Loved the intensity on defense from the start of the game to the finish.

Kornet isn't ready for the playoffs. He is choking out there, even in limited minutes. Hauser is not effective either.

Joe should think about going with Queta and Craig over Kornet and Hauser for a game or two, if Kornet and Hauser play like this.

We got our answer the last 2 games.

There was this notion that the Cs will not win playoff games if they attempt 50 3s in the playoffs.

The playoffs is just different.

Cs couldn't even attempt 40 3s the last 2 games.

The heart that Brown showed was amazing. A true warrior. His knee isn't right yet and he still played a great game.

Hoping Joe has the courage to run with Queta instead of Kornet for game 3 (like Luke but he looked really gassed tonight and needs a rest)

Brown outscored Banchero by 6 points on 6 fewer FGA and 3 fewer FTA.

The rest of the stat lines favor Banchero, especially 3 vs. 0 in TOs. But they're not enough to balance out the scoring.

Good win without Tatum.
I think we can get next 1 without him, too, but we'd need to get KP going( meaning knocking down 3s, etc) and hopefully Holiday can have a 15-16 pts night.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

The other totally cool thing Joe Mazzula did, which was mentioned on the broadcast, was sub Pritchard and Porzingis in for each other. That's a 7'3" guy and 6' 1/2" guy. They did it both ways, with the rest of the players shifting up or down a position after the change.

Mazulla's really unique and really good at his job.

The only thing to fear about this Magic team is that they might injure every single one of our guys by series' end. Sweep them and get some rest.

I hate when basketball gets hacky like Orlando plays....but OKC also plays hacky and slappy basketball....so if we meet them in the finals we will have had practice.

Get JT healthy and on to win game 3 in Orlando and crush their souls. 25 point win wire to wire please.

JB joined JT (4x), Pierce (2x), Bird (9x), and Hondo (3x) as Celtics players with a 35/10/5 playoff game in the last 60 years.

I went into this series saying I don't care how long it goes, we are winning and my main hope is to emerge without significant injuries.
Still the case BUT F it, let's sweep them fo sho

The Magic looked the same as they did against the Hawks, all out of whack. It just shows when a team like the C's have so many ways to make you defend them it makes it impossible. Their defense spilled right into their offense and they just tried playing hero ball. When they kept it close it was because of unforced errors on the C's end.

Banchero can keep up what he's doing right now (50% and 46% from 3), but I doubt it. I say he'll have a stinker and it's trending towards game 3.

You were saying about Sam?? :D

Sam had one 3PTA late in 3rd from the top where the defender came flying out, and Sam just needed to show a fake, let defender fly past, take a dribble and shoot a middie. This is the playoffs, Sam needs to get good open looks. Faking a defender out of his pants, steppin in and sinking a long two is absolutely humiliating to an opponent that they're so scared of your shot that you can use their fear and bodily momentum against them.

My advice would be don't become so ideological where you take low yield 3pt because you've ingrained that heavily contested 3PTA are more valuable than wide open 2PTA.

I am still a believer in Sam Hauser. Even without a bucket and getting cooked by Paulo a few times, he's still a net +6 in the playoffs so far, so we're winning the minutes when he's out there. Kornet has been way way worse
