Smh and even St. Thomas is beating us out for these guys now. Clearly a huge miss.

This is your gotcha? They offered that guy. Otherwise I wouldn't have alluded to it. This makes them & you look worse.

It's quite possible he was a very low priority or the rescinded the offer at some point.

Either way, it's a gotcha because if they focused on the all-important HS recruiting (as if it's 2012) from in-state and a local all-recruit team was built, he would be yet another guy that was attainable and is nothing special. Only a handful of guys that weren't in the big $ category over the past decade have been very good.

Gotta think they believe the new Lithuanian guy is ready to play - because I don't think Greppi or Garlock are guys I'm counting on and I believe they only have one roster spot left (probably for a rotation guard). Not much behind Winter/Rapp.

He kinda sucked at MN but looks like a guy that is OK as your 2nd/3rd guard off the bench as a senior after an okay Tulsa stint.

BREAKING: My daughter has committed to the University of Wisconsin!

Life comes full circle. I grew up in Wisconsin, went south for school, moved further south after college, now my southerner daughter has felt the pull of her father's Wisconsin roots.

I don't recall preseason games before.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

When I was in college, there was an "all-star" group of ex-college players called Athletes in Action that UW routinely curb-stomped in the pre-season. There was also a team from Russia that played at the Fieldhouse in an exhibition. Some drunk joker (from Mazomanie presumably) was sitting next to us with his kid and kept calling them "Chernobyl Heads!".
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

They used to have one allowed "secret scrimmage" and now that college sports are a fully capitalist enterprise, they decided to monetize it.

There have been preseason games for a long time - early 2000s at least. This is the first time I recall playing a worthwhile team. It’s usually like UW-Parkside and not on TV.
